Homophobia

Its 2017, I have no interest where a bloke dips his willy, I won't treat him any differently.

On a side note, I wish sexuality wouldn't define a persons life, I see so many people going on about being gay like its the only thing in the world - it isn't, be the best footballer, doctor, copper, engineer, father, mother etc etc. Let your achievements define you.

Seemingly that doesn't include posts that have been deleted as he's used it a lot more than that recently. Any thread discussing someones appearance.

Edit - it seems thats just the occasions he's used it on Pure Football.
It's quite surprising given his, correct, stance on racism and misogyny. It seems he's fine with this form of discrimination which is a bit hypocritical. Imagine that! Des the hypocrite.

I have never heard an chants in recent years tbh. I have heard players being called puffs. I think that's the problem more than chants. People will call that banter and not homophobic chants/abuse. There's a thin line, some might not know it but some do and still cross it.

The Mags have got a rainbow flag tbf it's probably their best of an horrendous collection

Depressing reaction from some fans about that on NUFC twitter. A lot shrouding their homophobia behind phrases like "Keep politics out of football" and the like. "Why isn't there a straight flag, like?"

Mostly from lads with pictures of bulldogs as their profile pic, retweeting Tommy Robinson stuff and EDL-lite memes. Who, when pressed, have no real substance to their complaints.

I've pulled it up a few times, he never responds. His stance on racism and misogyny is based purely on whether or not he can attack posters, often looking for it when it's not there.

There's a hell of a lot of it on this board. I don't hear homophobic chanting, but there's plenty of it expressed individually at the match.

The one and only time I have ever complained about a post on here (years back now) a Mod told me that this is a board of football supporters mostly based in one of the poorest, working class areas of the UK and that casual homophobia should therefore be expected. To be fair to him he later apologised for his wording of it but that was what I was told at the time.

Am old in this game now and just take everything with a pinch of salt and laugh it off. Life is too short to be getting upset about name-calling and I have heard it all anyway. And to be fair, some of the comments I get can be very funny, too and not meant in any bad way at all.

He called me racist because I posted a thread about Chelsea's goalkeeeper being at the club for 9 years without playing a game

Should see the response to a flag that a Newcastle fan made with their badge over the rainbow colours, a lot of fans weren't happy, cavemen

I think their is a lot of casual homophobia in society. This gives ammunition to those who want to exaggerate the problem. If you talk to individuals seriously, the vast majority will not be homophobic but indulge in casual homophobia for laughs. Same with racism.

I'd show you the rainbow SAFC flag they made for us in response but I already got the **** banned off twitter for it
