if benetiz had kept you up every mag and his dog would be saying only reason we stayed up was because of Rafa, in the end the only reason you went down was because rafa couldnt turn it around, you cant have it both wsys
This.
They'd be f***ing insufferable if that fat mess had kept them up

Ultimately, yes. Did you not already know this or did you just want me to say 'we were relegated under Rafael Benitez'? It's pretty obvious like.
Well so many seem in denial that he played any part in it, so I was just wanting to see if you're as equally deluded and blinded.

Evidently not

I don't think I've seen anyone suggest that tbf, got a link?

It would be foolish to he's either 0% or 100% to blame for our relegation.

Played for a draw at Villa

Tell me about this 'played for a draw at Villa'. I don't think it's ever been discussed or covered on here.

That is accurate. Because the world is complicated and many factors affect eventual outcomes.

It's those rare typos that the auto-spell checks miss. Like "I nit" instead of "in it"or "withe" instead of "with the". It's a war of attrition I can't see me winning.
Well, stop being a lazy Fish and just turn off predictive text/auto-spell. ;)

There's no doubt they had an upturn in results under him but four things are fundamentally true:

1. Anyone would do better than Tufty. Even John Carver.
2. They failed to beat Norwich, Villa or us, which is what sent them down.
3. He had enough time to do it, as illustrated by Di Canio and Advocaat.
4. Their results probably would've been sufficient in any other year but we had a storming finish under Allardyce.

4 5 1 vs worst defense on league in a must win game.

Dont think theres a better example of playing for a draw

This one isn't mentioned enough tbf, your form under Allardyce at the back end of last season was mental. As such, there was such a clamour for him to stay on the back of it and there was talk of being at least a mid-table side before he left.

By lambasting Benitez for being relegated is taking some shine off Allardyce's achievements. Context.

I agree. It's still funny as fuck though ;)

Benitez went to the worst team in the league who had lost about 87 games in a row and set yous up to get a draw.

Some sense here, eventually. In an otherwise absolute shambles of a thread.
