The implication being that he was chiefly or solely responsible for the relegation in 15/16 season. Neither of those options are facts. There are too many causes of our relegation to lay that accusation at one party/event/policy.

"He failed to keep you up" is a fact.

Benitez thinks he has Ashley over a barrel because the fans are on his side so much.

What he is not taking into account is that Ashley could not give a flying fuck what the fans think and if Benitez keeps making these threats, sooner or later Ashley is going to have enough and tell him to do one.

Failed to beat relegation rivals in horrific form such as Villa, Norwich, Sunderland.

I'd say he's had a big part to play in the relegation

Ashley cares only for one thing; Newcastle United being a Premier League club. He doesn't care if we finish 7th or 17th, as long as the global audience sees his tacky tat-shop signage plastered all over our ground.

Benitez is the safest bet that's currently available and interested, to keep us in the top flight.

Ashley will gamble on holding money back which might force Benitez's hand, but he wouldn't fire Benitez.

Okay, let's look at one of our recent examples.
Paolo Di Canio - by your logic, he didn't keep us up, but was merely one of a number of reasons that we stayed up.

Fact is Benitez was in charge when you went down and had been in the job in ample time to prevent it.
He took you down
 
Anyone mentioned that Benitez relegated us without even adding an iota of context yet? That's what usually happens.

That is accurate. Because the world is complicated and many factors affect eventual outcomes.

It's those rare typos that the auto-spell checks miss. Like "I nit" instead of "in it"or "withe" instead of "with the". It's a war of attrition I can't see me winning.
