New doctor who

there's a few ex DW cast members in Broadchurch...all of them victims of the Moffat era..

I think it's a case of PC box ticking by the BBC. There has been a concentrated campaign to force this through regardless of whether the show needed it or not and many of the people who wanted it, will see it as victory, move onto the next cause and never watch a single episode.

However, nothing will save the show from the massive shit filled cluster fuck that Moffat has created so when the show finally tanks, who will get the blame...probably the first female doctor.

it's a children's programme man, go out and get a girlfriend :lol::lol:

Wow - just wow. The issues bundled up on all this

It's weird. The majority of posts on this thread are against having a woman doctor, but you chose to signal out mine for special notice and to make personal attacks. I feel so special, but I think if anyone has issues, it's you. Do strong, opinionated women scare you?

For all the supposed outrage at a female doctor the only reactions I've seen have been pretty overwhelmingly positive. Must just be the comment sections

I have not seen anything with her in, so I have no idea if she is a good actress or not. The main thing for Doctor Who now is to get some decent story lines going.

It always used to be the sort of show that was good, but a bit scary, for kids, while having enough plot and decent enough writing for adults to enjoy. Things really started to get a bit stupid during the Matt Smith era, but then Capaldi has been awful. A great actor set up to deliver 20 episodes of stupid cheap gags with the occasional setting left to look like it was roughly holding some sort of story together.

Out of the reboot, I thought Ecclestone has the best balance. Caring enough to save people, then suddenly turn on an angry rant about saddling himself with another stupid ape. I'd like to see them get back to something like that and tell a decent story. No reason why that can't be a man or a woman.

Chris Chibnall worked on Torchwood, which had a lot of edgy and creepy stories. Hopefully he brings some of that sensibility to it.
