i knew mccann scored a fast one and its raken me 10 mins to find and turns out that was 71 seconds against Man U. fast but not in the first min

Can think of two quick ones from years ago, away at Swansea in 79/80 season with an Alan Brown header at the far end from us, we lost 1-3 and then in 89/90 away at Reading in the cup when it pissed down with rain and Gordon Armstrong scored, again at the other end from our fans ..... yes we lost again 1-2. Both of those were well under the minute on the clock.

Billy Hughes was the only one to score in less than a minute more than once and below is the list - a few were before my time (but not many) so hopefully they might ring a bell with others when they read them.

Ted Purdon – 10 seconds v Arsenal

Billy Hughes – 14 seconds v Leyton Orient

Bob Lee – 25 seconds v West Brom

Daryl Murphy – 28 seconds v Plymouth Argyle

Jackie Mordue – 30 seconds v Liverpool

Jackie Robinson – 30 seconds v Chesterfield

Darren Bent – 34 seconds v Tottenham

Michael Gray – 40 seconds v Barnsley

Fraizer Campbell – 41 seconds v Bolton

Niall Quinn – 44 seconds v Chelsea

Marco Gabbiadini – 47 seconds v Fulham

Billy Hughes – 55 seconds v Aston Villa

Connor Wickham – 59 seconds v Stoke

All under 60 seconds.

Must be a game attended and must be the lads. I think mine might be Bob Lee in the 6-1 touncing of WBA in the 1976/7 season when he scored after just 25 seconds.

The have been several first minute goals over the years but I'm struggling to think of anything quicker.
This for me as well I think we put six past West Ham in the next game ( or the game before) . Twelve goals in two home games absolute guuuurld.

What minute was the Bent beach ball goal? I was just walking through the turnstiles and people were jumping all over.

I seem to remember there were problems getttinf in though for some reason so might actually be later than I thought
