Wish there was a separate mag sub forum, sick of reading about them non stop on the front pages, who cares about them man![]()
If Grayson had £50m available to spend would you be so vehemently against him doing it? After all, he is 'shopping in lidl' too?
If my auntie had a cock would she be my uncle?
A mag bumping mag threads what next?So you bump the thread up,you thick twat![]()
After yous win the CL in 3030Ah right, no bother chap.
Tomorrow? Next week? Next month? Sept 2022? March 2019?
And now has a brother and sister! He doesn't realise his three year old son is now nine.
No, that's not what I'm saying. Nice try though. So hes incapable of building a side unless hes signed every player is what you are saying?
Benitez is guilty of short term thinking. You had the best squad without 50m being spent and he signed players not uo to the job in the big boys league.
He should have signed hot prospects who had the potential to improve. He didnt instead he blew massive money on poor premier league players and now is moaning because Ashley wants him to offload before finding more buys. Thats gross mismanagement and why he always leaves clubs in a state when he leaves.
The question that remains for me is this.
They are of the opinion that Rafa would have kept them up if he'd a little more time. Maybe he would who knows.
But if, for example, Nigel Pearson or any other manager like him had matched the results, result for result, would they have said the same and would there have been the clamour to keep them. I'm not so sure
So if Nigel Pearson, had got exactly the same points and exactly the same results, including the 5-1 against Spurs and you had been relegated you'd have thought he'd failed. No, that's not what I'm saying. Nice try though.
Why do you wilfully misrepresent facts? Benitez had a squad with players who didn't want to play in the Championship (Sissoko, Wijnaldum) and so left. He needed to replace those players. He also inherited a squad with players who weren't fit for purpose (Riviere, Saivet et al) he needed to replace those players.
Once those players left, we didn't have "the best squad" at all. Not even close. We didn't have a single recognised right back at the club, nor a right winger, a left winger, we had little depth up front, on the wings, at full back, at centre back. So he spent £55m on 11 players to address those shortcomings and deliver not only automatic promotion at the first time of asking, but the title to boot.
He signed the players to deliver automatic promotion, the players he signed delivered that. It was too much of a gamble to sign a squad of young lads with potential. Some of the players he signed are capable in the top flight, some were just for that campaign. It would be gross mismanagement to gamble the future of a football club on the shoulders of "young lads with potential", this isn't Football Manager.
Benitez wants to spend money on good players for this league, what a unique and outrageous position he's taken.
Just be honest with yourself Banks, Benitez is patently a good manager but you can't admit that because he's the Newcastle manager. Just purely because of his association to the club that is your club's local rival you must heap scorn upon him, for fear or... well I guess for fear of appearing less of a Sunderland supporter to your peers on here. Which is a bit silly when you step back and think about it?
No, Pearson isn't as good a manager as Rafa Benitez. Of course we wouldn't want Nige over Rafa.
Had Allardyce failed to find the 2 points that kept you up, would you want to swap him for Di Canio?
eh?So if Nigel Pearson, had got exactly the same points and exactly the same results, including the 5-1 against Spurs and you had been relegated you'd have thought he'd failed.
So now you've conceded thateh?
If Nigel Pearson replicated the results and was in charge he would have failed to keep us up. That's obvious.
Oh, hang on, I see. You're trying to subtly manoeuvre me into a position where I have to concede Benitez failed to keep us up. I'll save you the bother, I've never disputed that, it's self-evident.
So if Nigel Pearson, had got exactly the same points and exactly the same results, including the 5-1 against Spurs and you had been relegated you'd have thought he'd failed.
To be fair I was having a decent conversation with him and did yesterday about other issues. So if you don't mindWhy are you asking this again, man? Why is it always Nigel Pearson? The bloke is a complete cockend and if it was a straight choice between him and Rafa Benitez (which you are implying it is) I'd choose Benitez everytime. I'd wager most would as well.
Let me say this clear so it gets through your bitter, twisted, harridan mind:
You've already shown last night you are massively prejudiced against Newcastle fans anyway by not even bothering to wait for my reply before you decided your opinion of it so god knows why you are still asking these questions in the first place.
- Rafa Benitez was in charge when we were relegated. That much is not in doubt. If you are judging him solely on the remit of keeping us up, he failed at that task.
- Again, if you are solely judging Rafa Benitez on the 10 games he was in charge at the back end of last season, yes he is a failure.
'I'm not being arsey'
You're one of the most bitter people about Newcastle United on here, man.
To be fair I was having a decent conversation with him and did yesterday about other issues. So if you don't mind
Its about time this thread was parsniped.
Yer cant let them go on suffering.. they'll have enough of that next season. It's a cracking read.
Mags - "you's lot are obsessed with us"
Every morning, noon and night it's been bumped by them still chomping.
