Joe Hart aside, I can't argue with the choice of 'keepers. Forster had a dip of form but is established enough to ride that out - as long as it doesn't last. For me, Butland and Heaton are the best 2 English 'keepers in the league. Pickford has time on his side but I think he's currently trailing those 2.
 
Would rather see Pickford get some game time with U21's than sit on the bench for the seniors. Though a bit of experience with the rest of the squad would be grand.

So it looks like Defoe doesnt need to leave Sunderland (he hasnt left yet) to keep his place in the England squad. Meanwhile sitting on the bench for the biggest team in the country doesnt guarantee you a place in the squad even if you are Englands top goalscorer.

Maybe Defoe needs to reassess his options for next season. Maybe he would be no worse off sticking with us and as long as he scores a boatload he will be picked?
 
Pickford should be in the U21 squad for the euros, same with all the other good first teamers who are at that age.

Bullshit that England don't let them try to win tournaments and get that experience in

Yeah agree. The standard of English goalkeeping is as high as it has been for along time. Obviously Butland turned down Chelsea for Stoke afew year back but think he'll end up at Chelsea by the end of next season. He is all round excellent. If he didn't get injured last year playing for England he'd be off this summer and he'd probably be englands #1
