New Music Releases Thread

Afi haven't made a decent record since the miss murder album imo
The current record is ok, if a little "teeny-bopper Emo" in places, but Dreamcar is nothing like either AFI or old school No Doubt. It's more like The Bravery were, that same kind of indie- goth sound. It's just dull!

Have a look at this: https://www.reddit.com/r/indieheads/comments/6ai9l1/pwr_bttms_ben_hopkins_accused_of_sexual_abuse/

My understanding of it is that for a start, the statement is a lie. Members of the band have been approached before about Ben assaulting people and they've responded to these claims. They were aware. This is probably why now that shit has hit the fan they've tried to gloss over it with a well orchestrated statement.

That Reddit, Twitter and Instagram suggest that this isn't an isolated incident, it has been happening for years and its been brushed under the carpet.

The fact they've been binned immediately by everyone involved suggests they may have known more than they're letting on too...

It'll all come out in the wash over this next week anyway.
is there any article that sums the situation up? not followed it at all

Their statement is insane. Setting up an email address for the victim(s) to contact them? Never heard anything like it.

Album was really fun as well not that it's particularly relevant anymore.

Bit of new stuff I've been listening to.

New single from Public Service Broadcasting -They give me a lamp. New single from forthcoming album. It's not bad, starts of quite melancholic then builds up. Still think they peaked with their debut.

New single from Jane Weaver - Did you see the butterflies.
Second single from new album out Friday. Really good single from great artist. The first single Slow Motion is one of best singles I've heard this year so album looks like it could better the brilliant Silver Globe.

Warm Digits feat Devon Sproute. Again second single following collaboration with Peter Brewis of Field Music.
Excellent local band gaining recognition from BBC going down a slightly more commercial route by working with established vocalists. Sarah Cracknell of saint etienne also features on new album. Playing Cluny later this year for official album launch.

Is that some sort of euphemism or did they actually give you a lamp?

Looking forward to the Jane Weaver album and also seeing her live again... in other news, it's one up for the North East as Richard Dawson has got album of the month in the new issue of Uncut.

Going to see Jane weaver at the Lexington in London on Monday night. Looking forward to it. Also a new venue to tick off the list.
She's just announced a Cluny gig back end of year also.

It's Thursday so time for a list of tomorrow's new releases. However, firstly, an apology for missing last week's most important release - the new Harry Styles album.

Anyway, on with tomorrow's stuff. Looks a decent week: Jane Weaver (as mentioned by @mad cyril), !!!, Alex G (thought that was last week), Aldous Harding, Daniel Romano, DragonForce, Erasure, Faith Evans and Notorious BIG, Land of Talk, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Pokey LaFarge, Mountain Goats, Wavves, Vince Staples, John Matthias and Jay Auborn, Jade Jackson, Nick Hakim, Endless Boogie, Demen, Emily Barker.
