Defoe doesn't give a f**k

So if he was still taking them he would be close to Defoes total?
Wont work for JD though due to his need to be on the "all time" scorers list.
Probably not as he's been f***ing hopeless and hasn't played in games in which Defoe has scored penalties. Also for all he's been good at pens in past there's no guarantee he'd have scored the ones Defoe has this season.

Hes had chances. In a struggling side they are like gold dust and we should of tried something different. I welcome the chance to play differently.

Thanks for that wisdom.
I thought they would of been guaranteed, without him even having to take them. Wise words.

Typical uber Sky boy bullshit. Like any player he is putting his career first.
Exactly and why shouldn't he. We'd move a lad on if we didn't want him and got an offer we deemed suitable regardless of what he wanted so why shouldn't the player! All you can ask is that whoever we sign does a good job for us whilst he's here. Now there's quite a few who don't but Defoe certainly isn't one of them.

Well you said if Borini was taking them he'd be close to defoes total. Total guesswork.

His record would suggest he would score a very high percentage of them.
If you are only arguing about things that have actually happened there is nothing else I can contribute.
The whole point of the forum is discussion. If you revert back to only actual fact then there wont be much discussion

Wanting to do as well as he can in his career, what a bastard, hang him from the south stand.
They all want that. Its been detrimental to the club though and thats not right

How do I put it?

Defoe has been a true professional while at Sunderland, he's said the right things and conducted himself in the right way. People forget it's his job to do this. He's a mercenary, he will wish us well when he departs and do the same for the next club.

I'd fancy him to score the majority but as I said he's been hopeless and I'm pretty sure he hasn't played in games in which we've had penalties. You can't score from the spot if sitting on the bench or in stands.

How's it been detrimental? Don't give me that shite about "others chipping in if we played a different way" if our other attacking outlets were half decent and worked hard they would have.

He has been hopeless, but there is clearly something wrong at the club. He seems to be one on the outside and his and others roles have been reduced to getting JD more goals. Yes JD has scored the big bulk this year, but its too easy to say he is great and everyone else is shit.

When he wont pass to others who are much better placed - sometimes even for a side foot into the net.
He will shoot from impossible places with three defenders around him instead of squaring it.
You dont always see it on Match Of The Day, bit when you go to the games you do.

They haven't been reduced to that at all they just aren't good enough to produce anything themselves. Defoes career suggests hes been a decent turn, Borinis doesn't.
Oh and Borini is the worst one for shooting from daft places and running into cul-de-sacs.

Borini

I've got a season ticket, sorry to burst your bubble. Janujaz, Borini others, have been utter shit all season. No doubt without being injured Watmore would have chipped in with goals and assists as well as Khazri but Moyes was too arrogant to pick him over Janujaz.

So him rarely passing and shooting from anywhere has no effect on the team because his historical career stats are better than everyone elses?

As I've said Borini is as bad as anyone for this, at least Defoe bursts the net a lot more.
If I was Borini or anybody else I would make sure I had a shot too. They have very few chances to notch for themselves so I dont blame them.

Im nearly 50 and been going to games since I was 14 man.
Sky Boy! Jog on.

Defoes desire to score goals has been detrimental to the club?

So they're being detrimental to the team then, which you don't blame them for. You do blame Defoe however?
It could be argued that way, but its a symptom of the root cause which is a greedy player who is determined to get goals for himself no matter what.
It can be seem also that others starting to do the same is detrimental, but its cause and effect,

Defoes desire to score goals has been detrimental to the club?

Yes when he doesnt score and others are better placed. How is that a mystery?
