Defoe doesn't give a f**k

We dont owe jermaine owt, he almost single handedly kept us up again, wherever he goes all the best to him. I also think he must be in a bit of turmoil because wasn't it on the radio a while back about not wanting to leave the club whilst Bradley was still so sick ??

How are they not trying? We lost 2-0. If they weren't trying it would be 5s,6s and 7s every week man. We are a poor poor side.
The goals we conceded were an individual error from Pickford (who's been excellent this season) and a fantastic strike from their lad. Neither were down to lack of effort.
It wouldn't necessarily be 5/6 or 7 every week if they didn't try.
Yes we are a poor side.
Correct, none of the goals were down to lack of effort.
Does lack of effort piss you off more than anything else? You sound angry.

Not trying pisses supporters off more than anything. You clearly don't agree.

Yeah it does and with the good money paid to watch football nowadays can see why it does.

However without a doubt IMO, the reason for current situation is lack of ability, not lack of trying.

The problem with fans in this country is a full back cleaning out a winger gets a bigger cheer than a 6 man passing move.

I think people are naive if they think millionaire footballers really care that much about the club they are playing for or their fans - providing they have their fat 'guaranteed' wages.

Defoe has done well for a couple of seasons in a poor team but he'll only be concerned about his own fate for next season and certainly not SAFC's ?

Lack of effort does piss me off but that's not the issue with us. The issue is lack of quality.
Yesterday's performance felt like they were waving the white flag to me. They gave up. You are right there is a lack of quality but there was no effort yesterday, makes me wonder how many we will get stuffed by in our remaining games.

I've watched every game, not scoring goals doesn't mean he's not trying, people talk some rubbish on here
I watched him yesterday but my lad pointed it out that he backed out of at least 6 chances, one in particular in the second half where he jumped out of the way for fear of getting clattered, (not a thing you would want if you were looking for another club) where if he had challenged for the ball he may just have won the duel.

In fairness I only watched extended highlights this morning but it looked like the same old game we've played countless times all season. Can't keep hold of ball, allowing balls to come into our box, not giving the defence too many breathers and inevitably an error comes and we don't have enough to come back from it.

Certainly got a point maxi but also the new stadium brought with it a lot of 'new' fans who were used to relative success in its first few seasons. It seems if lads don't measure up to likes of Quinn and Phillips they aren't given lickings of dog whenever a lull in form occurs.
As a distinguished gentleman of some vintage myself, those formative years in our new home were breathtaking. The average attendance almost doubled and that coincided with superb new facilities and an exciting team playing attacking football. Compare that again with the last four seasons, and, well, here we are.

I'd say those first four seasons compared to the last four seasons at Roker were like day and night. Throw in the hype and all-round sexiness of the Premier League and we have lift off. Good players, even great goal scorers come and go. Hopefully the next one is along soon.

What pisses you off the most though, and I mean PISSES you off.

Thanks for that Marco.

Any response Mrjardine

This is the kind of post I'm on about "almost single handedly kept us up again". We're marooned at the bottom of the league. Nowhere near almost staying up.

Some of our fans are thick and ungrateful.

We scored 25 goals this season and Defoe has got 15! He has been excellent since he came to the club. He has one lean patch and now he's shite and doesn't care. But yet the same people will say Messi or Ronaldo would struggle in our team.

What does he owe us? He did the job we employed him to do. He's a professional footballer and wants to continue to play at the top level. No doubt Pickford will be scum if he decides to move to Everton or Liverpool to better his career.
