The premiere league's the place to be...

That's not really the point though. I'm more pissed off that despite being in the richest league in the world for 10 seasons, we have failed to improve as a club.
for me it's been a total shitshow with clubs constantly coming up and doing better than us despite the riches from sky

total mismanagement from boardroom to pitch.

Well the people saying on here you will piss the league just have to take a look at the table 80 points was needed to finish 6th

Leeds won 22 games and didn't get a playoff spot that's nearly half of their games won yet still not good enough

It's going to be as competitive next year as 2 of the previously relegated teams didn't bounce back so that will be 5 ex premier league teams from last 2 years in the division. Along with the rest competing for 2 automatic spots
The quality in general is pretty poor I reckon. Next year we'll have Villa, Boro, and probably Fulham/Wednesday/Huddersfield/Reading depending on who goes up to compete with. Plus a surprise package. That's 6 teams out of 23. Brighton have the right system, beat the shite home and away and you get promoted, obviously easier said that done but I'd be surprised if we didn't get at least 75-80 points.

Can see you having a season like villa have just had I expect you to get between 55 to 65pts, 2nd season you will be more equipped for a promotion challenge

Difficult to make an accurate guess till we see the state of the squad I guess. We have the basis of a good championship team I think, desperate for a striker though (Daryl Murphy perhaps?)

More unimaginative signings from Moyes and we'll be stuck down there.

If he can't see beyond ex-Everton crocks then we may as well not sign anyone.

You do realise the premier league has only 20 teams? While we were in the league, for every team that came up and did better than us, one dropped out of the league and went below us.

Getting relegated just means the phenomenon of teams doing better than us just got a whole lot worse.

yeah its been great watching them in the bottom 3 for last 5 years !!
This is the first season we have finished in the bottom 3 for a decade. In fact we've only finished as low as 17th twice. It's where you finish that counts.

I'd rather see SAFC win 9 games in the premier league and finish 17th than 22 in the championship and finish 7th (like Leeds for example).

It must be every lower league team fans dream to play in the Prem.

A lot of clubs have no hope but we know that dream will come again.

It's been totally shit barring about 20 games over 10 years. It would only have been shit for another 10 as the club were just piling up the debt.

A week after relegation and yes no one wanted to see us relegated but apart from the odd great result and customary drubbing of the mags, who can genuinely say they have enjoyed our stay in top league?
For me it just comes as a relief that now we can try and rebuild from a clean slate and start again.

We don't have a clean slate yet, let's see what happens

I have enjoyed our stay in the top flight, there's been plenty of good moments and I'd rather pay to see our lot up against high calibre footballers than Championship plodders.
You're paying to see championship plodders on red & white ? So it's the opposition you're paying to see ??

Being one of the bottom half in the premiership can be enjoyed if a club stays true to it's long term plan and doesn't fall into the trap we did of risking your financial future by offering players more money than they could ever be worth.

Once your finances get out of control you find yourselves in the situation where you think you can't afford to be relegated, this then results in you scrapping any long term plans you might have in favour of short term desperate measures.

Accept that if you are in the bottom 11 or 12 in the premiership (which is where all clubs who aren't able to spend mega money on players will always be) then relegation is an inevitable risk and if you have kept control of your finances then bouncing back up in 1 or maybe 2 seasons should not be a problem and doesn't necessarily damage a club long term.

Norwich have taken this approach (admittedly they are a smaller club than us with less earning potential) but they are in a decent financial position and they should be well placed to mount a good promotion push either next season or the one after.

Our fear of relegation has resulted in us trying to take all risk out of our approach, we approach games in a very risk averse way and we rarely risk giving young players game time unless forced into it. We have the opposite approach of some of the promoted teams over recent seasons and this needs to change, we need to stop valuing a crocked old journeyman with premiership experience over and above a promising young energetic pacy youngster with loads of potential.

You know exactly what I mean. I'd rather see us playing against higher quality opposition consisting of recognised internationals etc than paying to see twenty two bald men fight over a comb. I don't think that's unreasonable.
