Pointless speculating till the new manager is appointed and what sort of budget he has. However if Mr negative is in charge we'll be lucky to avoid another relegation battle. Although we've hardly battled in this one. :evil:
 

At times I'm not sure why some people support Safc, I'll take plenty of pleasure winning games in the championship.
 
I really do hope that for your sakes whoever is your manager next season, be it Moyes or not, they don't underestimate the sheer brutality of the Championship and the relentlessness of games.

You lot are going to be seen as a big scalp next season, teams will be right up for it.

We are just as likely to do a Leicester/Sheff Wed/Sheff Utd and drop down another league as we are likely to get promoted imo. The mood is so morose around the club, the fans are against Short, Short has lost interest and appears unwilling to invest any more money. Bain is like the Grim Reaper and Moyes is a zombie who has lost any managerial credibility he once had. We are being told that Moyes is staying despite the fans unanimously wanting the club to get rid of him. It's about as distructive as it gets.

There is currently nothing positive coming from the club, they severely need to get their act together. The problem is, Short has had over 7 years to get a plan in place and we still look lost. We still have no leadership and we continue to underperform, underachieve and they fail to provide the fans with any form of consistent entertainment.

I'm desperately hoping we are bought out in the summer. I know it's a long shot but what else is there to hope for? Another 6 plus months following a Moyes side that can't score, are mentally weak (like their manager) and have zero passion? No chance.

Wish I could agree but I think you're sadly incorrect in the fundamentals of your argument. Folk on here are unanimous in wanting Moyes gone but I don't get that sense from the majority of people attending games yet. This board gives a voice to people with a gripe and exiles, so is largely misrepresentative but I think the majority of people attending games haven't turned yet. Hence the applauding off at the end yesterday and Sunderland til I die being sung.
 
Not with Moyes we wont and the squad is utter shite. Its a horrible league to play in.
Winning in the Championship isnt as good as the Premier League either.

Of course they do. No one right in the head would want to let Moyes continue. My dad and his mates all go to the match, they wouldn't chant Moyes out but they don't want him in.

Work colleagues I know all want him out but again they wouldn't boo him. Just because people aren't vocal, doesn't mean they are supportive.

I think the number of season card holders refusing to attend speaks volumes.

I hope you're right. I think Agent Dave has been so clever at dampening expectations from almost day one that apathy is the prevailing sentiment.

Aye Sunderland/Man U obvious comparison to make really. Could pick holes in it but it's the Lord's Day today.
And clubs of our size are in there Leeds Sheffield Fulham and Villa for starters

Most of the clubs won't give two fucks about us. There's plenty of other big clubs down there.

As one of those from up the road I wouldn't say that we (or Brighton) were dominant. We have decent first 11 with enough filling to make it back up. But next season...?

And don't overestimate the the standard of refereeing, it is truly awful

Oh yes, the officials at Championship level is shocking.
 
I am not convinced we will win many games unless things change quite dramatically with the team and management, but I will say that many of the more enjoyable seasons in my lifetime have come when we are in a lower division - dare I say it the old 3rd division being amongst them.

Its true, the standard of football is lower, but it can actually be a lot more exciting to watch.

The big problem these days is how damaging it is to the club (aka business) as so much is about money now and there is a huge gulf in finances as you drop down.

None of the clubs in the championship, bar Newcastle, can compare their gates to yours. You are the 8th best supported team in England ffs!
