at least we will win games in the championship

To be honest I can see us dropping straight through into League One and I'm normally a happy clapper. Team will be ripped to shreds, club will auction off any player of value and coaching staff/manager will probably be the cheapest we can get, especially if Moyes is paid off. Probably end up with Dave Jones :(

There's a lot of ex PL teams in the championship next season. The likes of
Leeds
Sheff utd
Sheff Wed
Villa
Boro
Brum
Forest
Derby
To name but a few. Some seriously tough games I reckon.

Correct but had Bruce been in at the end of last season (I know that couldn't have happened) and had the full close season I think they would have been challenging. The worst possible scenario for us, in my opinion, is to fanny on with Moyes for the next couple of months and then get a new manager at the end of July. Moyes had made lots of mistakes but if we hadn't been messed about by BSA/the FA and he had more than a few weeks before the start of the season he may have done better. The club/Moyes with have to part company now or be clear that he is staying to rebuild and steer us through a tough summer. Doubt it'll happen though.
He may also have bought more shite.

No, I won't.

Winning games in the Premier League is a totally different buzz because our natural level should (it isn't be it should be) midtable so it feels like a genuine achievement when we win games in that league.

We will feel a bit like Man Utd fans in the Championship - winning will just be a relief rather than ecstasy. It will never have the same feeling of euphoria because a club of our size shouldn't be there.
Five, six mid-table finishes in half a century? Aye, that's our natural level alright. No, we're not over-rating ourselves at all.

All depends on who the manager is. Keep Moyes and I reckon we'd struggle in the championship.

So much of football revolves around confidence and momentum and like it or not several of the current squad will be here next season. What motivation will they have to play under a manager who's already told them he doesn't think they're good enough for the premier league?

Very well put mate

Unless there are major changes a Villa like season awaits us.

That doesn't sound to bad if we have a season like them. They got rid of their dire manager and got a decent manager (for that league) in and did not lose his first six winning four and drawing two After being beaten 2-0 by Leeds they beat Wigan before losing to Norwich but won the next two against QPR and Burton Albion. Then came a sequence of nine games where they only picked up no wins, two draws and seven defeats. But they won the next three and after losing the next one went on a four game winning run. And in the last five they won one, drew one and lost three.

That sounds like a good run to me.

The Championship has bigger clubs in it next season than the PL, outside of the top six of course. The likes of Watford, Palace, Brighton and Bournemouth have replaced them and fair play to them.

Stop kidding yourself...

Top flight football has three types of team.

1: Those who are well financed but questionably run
2: Those who are under financed but well run
3: The rest

Unfortunately both of our clubs belong to the third category (yes, I'm one of them from up the road and no, I'm not here to gloat..."there but for the grace of god go I")

Unless there are big changes between now and the start of the season, we will be much closer to relegation in the Championship than the playoffs.

Let's give up now then.

Nowhere do I say we should give up. Would you mind pointing to where I said that? Thought not. I was just quoting a stat which shows that perhaps 50 points may NOT be enough and that perhaps we may not be capable of getting 50 points in the 46 games we will be playing.

1) A win in the premier league is worth about 3 wins in the championship. How many feel elated when we overcome a lower league side in a cup match? Hardly anyone.

2) There's absolutely no guarantee we'll win games in the championship. Loads of clubs have went down and struggled. In fact, if Moyes remains we'll lose more than we win, imo.
Agree. It will be the same shit style of football, but with worse players.
