Going to Majorca end of May. I'm thinking of hiring a bike and going up Sa Colobra. Anyone ridden it? How difficult is it- considering I struggled up Crawlyside last year.

Ask @Oswald Ballbag ....

Did it yesterday for second time.
Last time with Oswald a couple of years ago..tough but in temp touching 40 made it harder.
Yesterday was harder due to really bad back. Had to stop and stretch about four miles up.....waved the missus on, not that she was going to stop

crawleyside steeper at beginning but quite a bit shorter....basically looking at 40 min plus effort as opposed to whatever Crawley side is...

Other thing about Sa Calobra is whichever way you do it you will have done at leat 1000 m of climbing before you start..,unless you cheat and take boat there

1000m before it startsI best shed some weight and get myself up Crawleyside a few times then. 6 weeks and counting.

Aye....basically three times longer than Crawleyside
Be hot in a May as well, it's almost like a bowl and retains heat.
I'd say approach slightly easier Batalla way than Femenia.

The only other thing is the final climb before you reach Sa Calobra, it's another 2k at about 8%

Maybe do San Salvador climb today but meant to be v windy here

I'm considering getting a cx/gravel bike with fat tyres - state of the f***ing roads now!!!

Anyone doing the Chevy Chase tomorrow?

I've been off the bike (and work) for the past two week with a shoulder impingement. Bloody knacks. But. It feels OK when I'm on the bike... Might be one of my dafter ideas, we shall see.

Do these events all have to have comic names ?

Absolutely love mine. Trouble is, instead of being the bad bugger with motorists, you're the bad bugger with pedestrians. Road riding is getting worse around here, I think drivers are getting fed up with the number bikes on the road and basically there are to many Knobs on the road, whatever activity they pursue

Went down to our town main street yesterday and it was notable how many bikes were there, every bike hoop was stacked out and all railings, posts and rain water pipes had bikes locked up to them. Good to see tbf.

Going to have a ride to Stapleford Park near Melton today to watch an off road leg of the Cicle Classic, lovely day for it.
