My view is that letting the club know the fury of the fans could be the rocket up their arse which makes them realise they need to act quick.

Genuine question - what would you suggest? You're one of the most sensible posters on here, and I think we all agree (?) that sitting back doing nothing isn't ideal. How can we send the message to the club that the fans won't stand by forever if they're intent on self destruction?

Based on what happened during the Murray protests they kept the players in the ground til after the fans had left. Imo it would be inappropriate for anyone to do anything which could be seen as aggressive.

Your 'source' is just a haphazard article by Sky which gives absolutely no details and doesn't suggest, in any way, that the protests had any effect on the sale.

So, are you saying the club was sold, after the protests, as a direct result or not?

I appreciate the sentiment mate and understand the frustration and the need to do something but the media will just make us out to be fickle arses and Short will not be affected at all. We are the pawns in all of this and cant change it.

I said they were sold shortly after the protests. As in the protests happened and then shortly after they were sold. I never said that protests caused the sale. The only person who knows that is Lerner. What I said is that they were sold shortly after the protests. That is true. That is a fact. That is what happened. Now please give me your source on the deal being negotiated 2 years before the sale went through, thanks x

How will they make us out to be fickle arses? If anything it's more embarrassing that we all seemed resigned to relegation, doing nothing but slumping off when 2 0 down in the 75th minute. And tbh I don't care what the media think anyway, I care about what's good for SAFC. If some cockney hack writes a sarky article about us I'll sleep fine.

The only tool in your locker....the only weapon in your armoury is not to go. The club knows it can rely on your passion...wether its roaring the lads on or protesting its the same passion. Apathy is the biggest threat to the club and I think a lot lot more people are just going to stop going rather than protest

What do you mean exactly? I never said that. I was pointing out to someone who said that Villa fans had protested and yet they still had the same owner that that claim is incorrect. You then came up with your own unsubstantiated claim. I give up.

Yes, that's your problem ..... that's why you won't be protesting on Sunday as you didn't the last time.

You replied to @Elephant and implied that the protests had an effect on the subsequent sale.

Fuck the media, they've had nowt good to say about us for years. They don't appreciate the shite we've been served up, they just think this is what we should expect.

You're right though, it won't force shorts hand or have much effect. It will however be better than us sitting or standing there doing nowt and just showing some sort of submissive acceptance to what's going on.

The best thing though is for people to vote with their feet, just make attendances plummet and stay away from the stadium until there's change. when there's 15,000 there at the first few home games next season that will get everyone talking.
 
A protest? Whatever you say they already know so doing a protest might look bad for a potential new owner. Think about what your doing. Not 1 person in the club is happy with the situation including fans but we need to do our best as supporters to make the club look attractive as possible for the sake of investment and a new owner, who hopefully has more money than sense we don't want some skint millionaire buying the club.
