Staff Redundancies at SAFC

Been there since the summer hasn't he? He's had two transfer windows to generate significant amounts of cash to help your finances.

Benitez had no opportunity to shape the squad to his design.

Less time and less opportunity to remedy a problem = more culpability. Apparently.

No sign of the simple yes or no amazingly. No surprise though, you're an expert at ignoring questions when cornered.

How quickly do you think Bain should've cleared the debts whilst trying to keep and strengthen a vaguely competitive squad?

Should Rafa have been expected to have won one from us, Norwich and Villa. A simple yes or no will do.....

Because it's not a simple yes or no question, your logic is completely flawed.

You seem to be exonerating one party of blame in not remedying the problems they have despite having two key opportunities to fix them while at the same time handing 100% of the blame to another party who had none of those key opportunities.

It's a pretty simple yes that getting one win from those games was a realistic aim and you know it, hence your reluctance to acknowledge it. Get three points, stay up, simple.

Amazing that you think clearing years of financial neglect and mismanagement is as straight forward a job, but again you know it isn't, you just won't acknowledge that either.

f***ing horrible that, not their fault that the board and the players can't do their f***ing job.

Most of the people in strategic roles have already been pushed out. It was only a matter of time before the club streamlined its operation. Many people on here have challenged the value of our alternative work on concerts, international relations, restaurants etc.

Its not nice but if its a drain in costs and not adding value to the company financially then its no different to any other organization. If the jobs are lost as a direct consequence of performance on the field ie in the ticket office(football matches), coaching and medical staff, groundsmen etc then the players should take some blame for failure. Truth though is this is mismanagement at a senior level over a number of years and the people responsible are no longer here.
It takes what it takes to motivate premiership footballers whether we agree with it or not going to New York to build morale etc is no different to many other clubs and boy did we need to do something to get this group of random individuals to become a team. The timing however is just crass insensitivity

So, in summary, the club identifies that it doesn't need all of the people it employs. Most people are pissed off with this, and would prefer that we keep on employing people that we don't need, mostly because we can afford to send the players to New York.

Is that about it?

Edit: that wasn't a summary of your post Chewit, in case you think thats what I was suggesting :)

I'll acknowledge that, 100%.

I could argue that it's amazing that you think fixing 4 years of squad mismanagement with a hotch-potch of players in a squad you are unable to shape at all to your design is a straightforward job and should you fail in your task to remedy this problem then it is 100% your fault.

I've never said it was 100% anyone's fault, putting words in my mouth now to try and form an argument you can win. Win one game against the worst three sides in the division and you stay up. If you can't do that you have to look at your manager. What I find incredible is that you lot refuse to acknowledge that Benitez and his tactics and coaching had any part in your relegation whatsoever. No better demonstrated than here where you refuse to have a word said against him.

Baffles me how Short has become a millionaire, been making the same mistakes year after year innocent people are losing there jobs because of this prick.

Say what you want about Mike Ashley but he has got the Mags debt free and a stable condition we are in such a mess because of short i fear we will do a Leeds /Pompy just hope this trip will be worth it
The mags owe ashley more than we owe whoever the fuck we owe

So thats bullshit

As for short. Hes a billionaire

All joking aside, I'm actually going to cancel my season ticket in protest if this happens.

I'll support a smaller local club like Blyth or summat. In fact, Fuck football
Toodles

Not the first round of people to go. More cuts unfortunately. Obviously preparing for a sale by reducing the overhead of none essential staff. Shame like, some have been there years and given the timing and the player situation of NYC and half arsed performances, makes the situation worse.

Sorry if anyone on here has been told that they are out of work. Chin up.

Basic business really. When you start losing money one of the first things you do is look at the wage bill to cut the expenditure.

I've criticised him on here so that's not true.

I attribute little blame to him for our relegation though, just as I attribute little blame to Shearer when we went down in 2009.

The rot had set in long before those two managers were installed and the writing was on the wall.

You could point to Sunderland being in worse positions but one thing Sunderland have had in spades and we didn't have in both of our relegations is heart and will to put your bodies on the line.

If Bain oversees a relegation after Byrne had overseen so many successful survivals would Bain be a success and Byrne a failure?

I'd bet that if we had appointed Bain at the time Byrne took over as Chief Exec we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now. Bain inherited an absolute shitstorm that Byrne helped create. He can't be blamed for years of mismanagement and deserves time to sort it.

Dunno if anyone's suggested this or not, but the process will take 3 months, by which time SAFC's status for next season will be decided. I would suggest that should relegation be avoided redundancies will not take place.
A simple case of precautions being put in place should relegation occur. I'm confident it won't but am not placing any bets.

Theres surely not one person at the club thinks that would be a good idea

If anyone puts the idea forward he/she should be the firs to lose their job

Aye, no way can they raise prices. Whilst there's the risk of championship football it'd be a crazy decision and would see many not renew. I know you get four more games in the championship but it's not as if tickets, or offers, will be hard to come by. If they want to raise prices and keep the current level of support they'll need to get their fingers out of their arses and go into March one year with survival looking likely. Whilst it's like this, and especially with the additional money they get from the tv deal, it'd take some balls to ask for more money!

Debt free? The club owes Ashley a shit load.
