Well if we are digressing completely then yes, that is all true. But getting back to the point in question (gold star, Europe, Mickey Mouse etc) people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. 4 games in an actual Mickey mouse cup before most posters on here were born. That's your European pedigree in 138 years. Fwiw the Cup Winners Cup 1/4 finals that year included the football giants Glentoran, PFC Beroe, Magdeburg and PAOK. But bar the fairs cup, the mags have done fuck all in europe. They've always been the whipping boys, unable to compete.
