To be fair we have had a few flag days and it does lift the atmosphere Why I don't know. When we had that huge flag that used to flow around the crowd the atmosphere was always good too.
Personally I think most grounds are flatter than they used to be, it's not just us, I just think it's as you say culture, more family's at the ground (I am now guilty of this).

Flags dont make a difference to the atmosphere really. We have them and it doesn't change things much if at all.

I’ve seen the odd game of yours on the TV and its been flat as a fart too.

Well personally I have noticed a difference, maybe it was because it was new? I don't know but it felt louder.

It was still shite when we finished 5th mate. Its a change in culture for sure. When i was a bairn it was deafening. Its almost like people are too scared to belt it out in case their mates with shitty haircuts think they look stupid.
my first visit to the wongadome was something else. hairs on the back of your neck. nowadays its run of the mill and its a pain in the arse so i go to my pals up stanhope street and walk down 10 mins before kick off. yeah i know what you mean, too much brylcreem and not enough voice. gerrintothem fuck them up!

see thats the problem. back in the day my dad made me go to reserve games at new ferens park (lived a village away so used to walk a few mile there) to harden me up. like a trial, before getting to go to a league cup 2nd round game. make sure i still had an interest. nowadays the little darlings bring their capri suns and game boys in case they get bored.

"You'll do for me Bonny Lad"?
What is a club in any case?

Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it.

It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes.

It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.

Just in case you were genuinely curious.

It's a bit shite. There's no representation of the Teresa Herrera Trophy for starters.

4/10.

Can't argue with that.

I don't know if that'll fit on the flag, it's already got a lot going on.

bit wordy for a flag like, especially when you've got all those random stars and stuff scattered over it.
