Nah, it's not too old. That's how it works for most people at the minute. My Uncle was suspecting this (at 57) but ended up with two offers at same time. Just got to keep at it and not let the set backs piss you off too much.
Thanks for that, it's not like I am after anything permanent, agency stuff or temporary will do. Just something to keep me off playing poker all day, very badly, when she is up and running.

Plenty of jobs out there for older folk. Garages need reliable folk with clean licences to deliver cars, drop off customers when they are servicing cars etc. Prescription deliveries is a good 'un as well. I know people who have done these tasks for a few quid in later life.

Just returned back to the UK and looking for a bit of temporary/agency work after I get our lasses business up and running.
Applied for a few jobs with either a quick knock back or no reply at all.

Depends on what you're applying for. If you're going for graduate jobs, then yes.

Depends what you're willing to do

If you fancy a change of career they are always recruiting at my place of work. A fair few older lads work there. (I am 59 this year).

More information please, just bought my own van as well.

It was just through a local pharmacy. They supplied the van. He drove around dropping the prescriptions off at people's houses. He enjoyed being out and about chatting to old folk.

I'm 55 and have been looking for a new role for 6 months. I just counted the CVs I have out there. 81.

It's almost enough to make me start my own consultancy business........

Do it mate, got out of oil and gas about 14 month ago. Had to return home couple of weeks ago due to family reasons and getting bored pretty fast.

Have you any tats?

What's your lasses business.

Sound like a good lad to me.

Obviously I don't know how many knock backs you've had but I know young lads who apply for hundreds of jobs with no luck (and others who get them straight away). Regardless of age there's just loads of people looking for work. Keep at it and, unless you're ridiculously picky, something will crop up
