A lot made on he was a saint at rangers the one clean bloke amongst the filth but the link someone put on here seems to throw that illusion out the window.

How anyone, after 10 years in the richest league in the world can be between £170-200 million in debt with a playing squad half full of loans, kids and freebies is beyond belief.

The kind of incompetent leadership that puts ridsdale and leeds to shame.

Easy - buy for 8 million, sell for 2 million, buy for 12 million, sell for 4 million, pay huge wages to tempt them here, have lowest match day revenue, have very low advertising income...rinse and repeat for year upon year - sack manager pay compo, sack manager, pay compo, loan out players to other clubs , still pay their wages, agree to loan players, end up having to buy them even though you don't want them, buy players who can't even play for us, buy players who are injury prone so you need to buy more players.

Do you allow for the possibility that Lescott has been signed as a cheap cover option given the injury list and Pappy's imminent suspension? And that he's not part of the greater transfer strategy?

Very true might also be that we are so shit in defence he actually might be better than what we already have, the f ckin defence needs surgery try anything to stop shipping goals, re Lescott I'm in

I have no doubt his actions at Rangers were a bit dodgey but the flip side to that is when you're in a situation like he found himself at Rangers sometimes you have to be a bit underhand. I don't know, I really don't know what to make of him.

The worry is he's just a puppet for Ellis but it's unclear to me at the moment how much we can take what he says at face value. From what he says and has done so far I find it hard to make any criticism really.

He took on a mightily shit situation due to the actions of Short, Byrne, Hutchinson and various DoF's and managers.
Hes a bloke preaching about signing young players to sell on at a profit and not over paying whilst sanctioning such deals as -

8 mill for papi
13/14 million for ndong
Lescott
Pienaar
Anichebe

Hes either a liar, a mouthpiece for short or he joins the ever growing list of people short has lied to.

Either short is giving us money or he's being bollocked for it. Moyes has my backing but only as he is the leader. Just hope something good happens.

Short has fucked us but moyes is far from innocent for me.

If your leader is shit you dont follow suit you try to take the reigns and do your best but the way it looks is that short has given up so moyes has followed his lead and the players see moyes has given up and has followed his lead.

Shocking situation mate but its 11 strangers on the pitch looking to blame each other for their own failings.

The problem is we have players from Bruce era, as an example, who have stagnated long ago, and were never that good anyway, still holding the dressing room and are negative to younger players. Larsson and Catts in particular. These are players who when they hang up their boots will be able to tell their grand children they played for clubs like Birmingham, Wigan and Sunderland. Did they win cups for those clubs, battle for Europe? No, they relegated or fought relegation with them..that is the caliber of player we have bought for years. That is the problem. Southampton have it completely right - how did they attract Koeman? Would he have come here, if not why not? When we know these answers we know the real problems.

Our only left back mate. If he was selling deadwood like borini, larsson, rodwell or the other deadwood at a profit i would be impressed but selling one of our biggest attacking threats who we got for buttons to a relegation rival at a profit is hardly a good thing for the team.

So hes a liar or a patsy for ellis, which is it?
As Chief Exec he's tasked with running the business - Moyes is responsible for the Football side. Moyes did not want to get rid of Kone and Defoe and we kept them - despite what many on here predicted. Moyes has clearly been told due to our debt and the FFP rules we have to sell before we buy and PVA was deemed one who could be let go - presumably due to his constant errors at the back. Bain has then got a good price - something he correctly identified we haven't done in the past (I know you could point to Kaboul as one where we didn't get a good price). He's also looked at us employing a Commercial Director who was not bringing in the sort of money we should and brought in a highly thought of Footy Director.

This club is undeniably in a mess. Bain seems to be slowly but surely doing things to improve it. Its anything but an easy job. Additionally under Bain's the club has been more open in its communications than it has since Quinn - you might say the club has been too honest at times. Personally, Bains has been one of the only positives of this sorry season.

This is spot on.

I haven't read through 9 pages but if anyone is blaming Bain for anything then you need to get a grip as he's come into a basket case of a football club and cannot in anyway be blamed for the 10 years previous.

This.

Debt and mismanagement since Drumaville and the new man is getting the blame lol

Beware accountants. They see the cost of everything and the value of nothing.

Doing a sterling job, £14 million shows he's getting the maximum value possible and not rolling over like we've done in the past, under the previous chief executive he'd have gone for £4 million or out on loan!

When you have 30 million and you need to sign 8-10 players, you have a choice. You can sign ten 3 million players or you can sign some more expensive and some less expensive. We have went for some on free transfer to plug gaps while signing others for more money.
Papy was in the bundesliga team of the season last year, yes it hasnt worked out but I can see why they bought him
We will get our money back for N'dong + more when we do sell

You mean like Lens going out on loan one year after signing him for £9m?
