The latest fall guy for ellis or just another bluffing a living at safc?

19th october 2016.

“This football club has to get better at buying and selling football players.

“I see it and I hope I can achieve. Like it or lump it we should be looking at bringing players to this football club and selling them for a greater value.

“We have to look at acquiring players at a younger age too.”

24 days into the first window since those comments and we have lescott the pensioner on a 5 month deal.
 

I don't trust Bain tbh, think he's pretty much tasked with being an asset stripper while trying to placate the fans with fairly glib media releases under the guise of being "open and honest and reconnecting with the fans". A wolf in sheep's clothing if you like. Time will tell.

Do you allow for the possibility that Lescott has been signed as a cheap cover option given the injury list and Pappy's imminent suspension? And that he's not part of the greater transfer strategy?

Yes thats why moyes used his telepathy to bring him in prior to the suspension:lol:

On the basis that Bain wants to bring in younger players and develop them, you would have to say that McNair, Love and NDong all fit that bill for a start. It's far too early for anyone to be writing any of them off.

Our only left back mate. If he was selling deadwood like borini,larsson,rodwell or the other deadwood at a profit i would be impressed but selling one of our biggest attacking threats who we got for buttons to a relegation rival at a profit is hardly a good thing for the team.

Well neither atm. If we weren't skint, maybe we'd be able to call it either way or maybe we'd see this transfer strategy in action.
We have no money, therefore we can't see it. Therefore to call him either of the above is naive and childish

It's a good thing as we're prepared to sell but only when a replacement is found.
I've been impressed with Bain.
