I sent them a message asking for my bro in law as he on about joining at end of April anyway so asked what the offer was to join now and got that figure quoted.
I got a better figure than you quoted mate, I suppose being a member previously may have helped.

Managed to get finished work at 12 today, so I had a knock.
Managed 18 holes in 2hrs 7 mins. Basically ran round and shot 70. Still made it to pick the kids up from school.

Class I'm all about getting rid of slow play nout worse than getting stuck behind wannabe Jason Days or Keegan Bradley's

2 hours is pushing it mind

Where did you play?

George Washy have all the greens open tomorrow can't wait to see the state of them

Played in a comp at Slavkov here when I was thinking of joining - took almost 6 hours - didn't join cos the lads I played with said it always took that long

Castle eden. All the greens were on but come 1pm it's always empty . Tomorrow afternoon will be dead anarl.

When I was at the Ramside it started to get bad, with rounds getting close to 5 hours in stroke play competitions. This was one of the reasons I left, being out the house for getting on 6 hours was shite.

It's the same at Houghton too mate, fuckin ridiculous.

The group I play with are all pretty quick players but there's a group that joined when mount Oswald closed are extremely slow and even though they have a 3 hole head start we're up the arses by the 5th. Lads are twisting if it's over 3.5 hours here:lol:
There's no need at all to take that long to play a round of golf. We play on a Saturday morning at Houghton and there's a group of older blokes who are there at half 7 waiting for it to get light enough to play, there's normally about 15 of them and they take the piss and play slow on purpose!

Apparently it's the same with them during the week too.

I've been warned quite a few times for dangerous play but I always use a club that will be about 10 yards off the players in front. It gives them a gentle reminder to hurry the fuck up or let me through.
I know is bad.

Is it me or does Houghton seem ridiculously busy all the time? I went there a two weeks ago on a Sunday about 1430 and couldn't get parked!

If I feel we are holding anyone up I will always ask them if they want to play through, it's etiquette and common fuckin sense!

I'm looking at going back to Ramside, just need to make sure it's the right thing to do.

It's a tiny car park for the amount of members and guests, I went to Ramside at about 3 this afternoon and every car park was chocker!

They must be doing something right, I'm assuming the spa is doing great business.

Get yourself down Hartlepool lads. Golf in all weathers and not many pricks.

My son was there in November, end of season county get together, played in a 3ball with Granam Storm and an England player, Storm shot 5 under, my lad shot 7 under. He was there 2 weeks later and shot 9 under, he likes Hartlepool

It's a fantastic little course. Good for scoring but very tough when the wind gets up (like most links). Think I know the England player you're referring to, fantastic to watch him on. Your boy must be doing well though, is he aiming to go pro?
