Time to get serious if people want to compile a book about stories through the years.

I'm happy to help in whatever way and contribute or collaborate with anyone & everyone.

As @Hoond has suggested profits could go to a charity ...... it would be good to put them on record, time's running out for some of us ;)

So would anyone interested quote this thread, the next person quote that response and so on. Any contributions can be anonymous if need be.

If it doesn't happen at least we've all had a laugh with this thread ...... thanks to the Mods for letting it run, as it's not exactly pc

Some good days Pedro.Great hear you are still ganning. Riv has mellowed with age for sure, no sign of gun, blind stick, crutch, wheelchair, chain, matches, ski mask, donkey jacket, Sun glasses or baseball bat now, but one can never guess with him, as you know;)..Our long tall one is still crackers but like us all getting slower, but he did chase a Mag lad in Carlise the other week who bumped his car and thought he,d have a bit of road rage with a bald ,old fker. Young lad was in for a shock went 6 foot 4 ,red faced lunatic got out car with a hatchet and he legged it. The big fella can`t a run these days so just went into post office for his pension. He was on Tyne Tess news not so long ago also for a little incident with another Mag:cool: and The Ginger one has retired to his allotment in Shiney with barrels of home brew, still disn,t buy a round...and I live in a geriatric wonderland , drinking much ale and cider in bars and taking legal medication for the pain of boredom, except match days where I am raised from the dead again... but we must meet with Riv next match and eat peas pudding bait, drink and tell tales of following Sunderland around the camp fire that our grandchildren can expand out of all proportion in bars in Spain, Italy and China when The Lads finally win that Championship league...if you ganning Burnley , will get my lads to get me out of the Shelter, our lass to make pies and see you both there., Catholic club next ground .Eddy is going too? PM me, I think I finally know how that works......

What a mixture of characters our little band of brothers was but we all had that immovable love of SAFC and even though 30 odd years later we are scattered all over the country we still have that friendship. Cant remember the saying word for word: Laugh together, cry together, fight together.
WBA is my next one.Car of 5 will be in The Vine 12ish. cant afford week in week out anymore but I would given half the chance. Riv tryin to get me ticket for palace managed to get travel on the cheap. Strange how I seem to feel the need to follow the lads when they are on the slide again. Get yersel over with Riv and we will cleanse the soul again lol

Our Micklefield and garden gnome experience was back in October 76 on our way back from Coventry after a rare 2-1 away win, other memorable events that day after the game was Gunner and The Bear and a few others turning a pink Jag on its roof, can you remember Vauxie ?? Also when getting back into our van TL saying to the useless North Yorks Old Bill, "excuse me officer" and he said "yes son" TL replied "nee wonder could couldn't catch the Ripper" pissed ourselves all the way home.
Got your dates mixed up mate nee Ripper in 1976.

Reminds me of one of the most creative songs sung only by Sunderland fans (one for the young uns):

Me brother's in borstal
Me sister's got pox
Me mother's a whore down in Sunderland docks

Me uncle's a pervert
Me auntie's gone mad
And Jack the Ripper's me dad

La, la, la. .. . (Repeat to fade)

Ah, they don't write them like that anymore.

Right mate, Palace ticket sorted ...... pay me on the day ;)

This has been a fascinating thread but in truth the focus is almost exclusively on 55+ fans.

The generation after that is very reluctant to be as open for obvious reasons. I remember the woman who made the Two Tribes documentary sitting with us in the Terminus buying everyone's beer for the afternoon. I'll never forget her going up a gear availing herself with all her journalistic documentary skills only for the lads to say "Cheers for the drinks love".

There are some things people just don't want to talk about.

This is Stevie, there's lots we can't post on here ....... I have some great stories that would have the thread deleted.

But this is about Sunderland characters and the daft stories that go with them, not criminality.

Some of the best stories, on here, are totally harmless ...... gan on, hoy some up ;)

I've just been contacted by @Hoond who's cleverer than most of you wankers, me included.

He's suggested we collaborate on a book, with the help of lads from here like @shaun61 and donate every penny to a Bradley style fund.

I'm game, as usual, but would need everyone to donate photos, cuttings, stories etc.

Donating every penny to a Bradley style fund would be an excellent idea but contributing stories of a 'hoolie' nature maybe not so.Just a thought.
