Am in Dublin next month. Twickenham is class, was in hospitality for the NFL in October, better than Wembley for me as a stadium to watch sport in.

Only difference is that gigs are not sport! Only ever heard back things about Twickenham as a gig venue in all honesty.

Went to the Cardiff Arms Park leg of the world tour: Pretenders, The Alarm and the Pogues on the bill that day

I'm sure there was another band or two on the bill but for the life of me can't remember who:oops::rolleyes:

Possibly Cactus World News might have been on the bill too, but can't be sure. A band signed to U2s Mother Records label and as the NME claimed they were going to be the next big thing in 1987:eek:

Open air venues are all down to sound quality so venue itself can't be blamed. Stands at Twickenham are steeper than Wembley therefore you'd expect it to be better as you're closer for a view. That was definitely the case for sport.

Hothouse Flowers?
The Fat Lady Sings?

I was at the aforementioned Murrayfield gig first time around and also the one at the old Wembley. The latter was the best gig I've ever been too. Not just for the music which was out of this world, but the whole atmosphere with 100k fans whipping up a frenzy throughout the day. It was a memorable occasion.
