I've met some truly mad Sunderland supporters .....

Spot on. They were around from the late seventies onwards I think. The village used to have a carnival once a year ....jazz bands and stuff like that. One year they turned up and a young copper got set upon. He was set on fire but luckily only his hair was burned. Sounds mad I know. Over the years a lot of them got sent down. One got done for attacking a transgender politician in another town. Another got done for manslaughter he killed his girlfriend.
They had some right nasty characters.
Yes, one of them hit a bouncer with a glass ash tray in Chesters. Blood everywhere apparently. Not sure if anyone ever got done for it. There was a lot of bother around at that time with the casuals etc.

yeh skin still around hes a celtic fan as well ....roker park v rangers wheatshief pub full of us n rangers wen skin stood at the door in a celtic top goading 100s hell on it led to that battle on roker avenue minutes later fact
I was in The Terminus at the time the battle on Roker Avenue kicked off. One or two of the Rangers fans asked me if there was another way to the ground as they were not "f***ing walking down that f***ing street". I guided them over the road and far away. Probably still looking for the ground as we speak.

The Terminus got smashed up that day. Curtains flapping in the wind the lot. Chelsea were there. An SAFC fan stuck a syringe in one of them by the Wheatsheaf.

Yeah my time in the north east was always one of memories of violence. These NF types always had coloured my view towards football violence which is odd in itself because I'm not exactley what you would call a pacifist.

I think I rember that being on the radio. I also think I was in another part of the country. What year was it can u remember?

Its not pure football. If hoolies and wannabees want to glorify and revel in football violence its should not be on the pure football board.
Take it to the SMB.

Had a mate and his two lads down from Scotland, Rangers lads, stayed with us and we went to the game.
Afterwards driving up towards Southwick there was loads of Rangers fans fleeing for their lives, my mate and his kids had to hide their scarves they were terrified.
Back at work, offshore, he told all the lads by far was the worse place he had ever been to for bother and he had never seen Rangers lads running like that.
Class man!

Just googled it you're right ...........Bennets testimonial in 93.
I remember now one of my mates said that some of my " boys" had been slashed by some "porridge w#gs" . Yeah that made the national news was repeated on the radio a few times that day.

I'm too old to be a wannabe and I've never been involved in football violence. I can't deny though this thread is very interesting. I don't mind taking in other people's experiences and points of view.I don't mind learning something off the next man.

You'd think people could start off a new year without the same grudges and repeating drivel they've posted the previous year.

But Jardine, Five & Haway have all come on a decent thread, enjoyed by dozens of people, specifically to have a childish pop at me.

They do it on thread after thread but always twist if you call them obsessed.

But, to be fair, it inadvertently has a funny side ...... how on earth do Jardine & Haway almost always manage to 'like' each others posts within a few minutes

No matter what time of day or night, boom, straight there ....... could they be the same person I wonder.

I'm convinced that one has two (definite) other log ins and (possibly) three, but don't think Jardine's one of them.

It was a bullshit time mate....id just left digbys when the boys were slashed. Perhaps its because 8 of us left they then decided to get uppity. I was there when the barman in the yellow rose at boro was slashed across the stomach and the punters rifled in the 80s on the worst night of football violence ive ever seen happened.
It aint big nor clever and through most of the late 70s and 80s you could litterally be fighting for your life.
Dont listen to this riever sanitised crap.....he was on the outside watching and is now relaying his tales. There was organised violence i took part in it.........
Its a time i look back on with shame. It was a right of passage for a young man. But those glorifying it here were obviously never IN IT.....as they keep saying they saw it from the other side of the ground or street. To this day i have friends who dont think that meet was worth the scar down their cheek or puncture wound. Dont let tbese plastics fool you. They were bad days. Football has moved on....and for the most part even the boys are glad of it.

The only thing you got right was that it was organised to some extent, but that was later.
I believe you were on the outside looking in. I don't look back in shame and I was involved in some crazy rucks, I look back with fond memories of some of the absolutely class lads I have met during those times and still meet up now and again with them.

If you have witnessed somebody being slashed it must leave an impression. I have been attacked myself with a sharp blade , somebody tried to stripe me across the face thankfully my fingers took the brunt. Our experiences leave us with different points of view.
Im not judging you or anybody I'm just interested. Why? Fuck knows im not going to be putting on any cherry docks anytime soon.
What I think it might be is there is a level of brotherhood and that I can understand.

Ive got the court appearances to back me up. Lots of money on solicitors and fines. I still have the friends and aquiantances........but they werent jolly times as portrayed on here as my post proves. To many wannabees painting pictures of themselves for glory. Leeds away, west ham and spurs were never a jolly ruck.......not when you were in them. Recounting the pain that was going on in the middle of the street is easy ......you werent in it. If you were you wouldnt be glorifying it and telling tall tales to other posters despite your username.
Theres many tales i could tell but they involve serious illegal activity and acts......those days are gone and football is the better for it.
Theres no glory on a train wondering if a friend is actuallt going to bleed to death or being unable to get to one who has a group around him stamping on his head.
Your sanitised glory days of a thick ear or fat lip did not exist......not at the games i attended that you profess to have been at.

In your opinion or your imagination. You don't know me or what I was involved in, you have no idea so don't pass judgement. If you read what I have posted I have not actually posted a fraction of what I was involved in.We all have court appearances and fines to reference, it's nowt special
However all of the stuff posted on here by the other posters will be true, why would they make it up, yet what you have just spouted we are supposed to believe?
Aye reet! Go to bed man.

The glorifying of football violence on this thread is beneath the smb and the thread should not be on the pure football forum.
The "same old names" glorifying their supposed antics should take this to the smb....or parsnip for me.
Jardines photo summed it up.
