 I am glad you can take a bit of crack but I wish you would just stop wuming ffs. If we meet ill let you buy me two beers for boiling me piss xx

Not reading all that fucker like. Have you basically said "all mag's are wankers?"

You're alreet Eddie, even if Colback is your favourite player

Having been at every premier league ground it is apparent the atmosphere generated by home fans is generally poor. For example, the supposed special atmosphere at Anfield is always shite, as evidenced last week.

Relatively the atmosphere at the ssol is good and one of the best, if not the best, in the league. And that's after years at the bottom of the table watching crap football. Imagine what we'd have been like if we knew we'd be top of the league with a win like Liverpool did last week. We're deafening even when we just stave off relegation. For a home premier league crowd we are excellent.

Agree with this

Be careful mate, one or two of our so called fans on here won't be having that.

Just cos you don't agree with our fans being "the bestest and loudest ever" doesn't mean you support the lads any less. Everyone looking at the club through rose tinited specs needs to get real

I think people are saying that in an era of pretty shite vocal support from home fans across the country, the ssol has a relatively decent atmosphere in comparison to most.

I'd agree with that. But to say there's non like it is just plain wrong

Yeah, that's all mate, not the big deal some are trying to make it.

Ignoring what's actually said in the OP seems to be the best way to build an argument.

It's deliberately bombastic but the sensible posters realise it's primarily to provoke a debate.

The hysterical reaction of some is ridiculous imo.

At its best, the atmosphere is difficult to match anywhere. Obviously it's rarely at its best, as is the case at any ground, but I think the crowd has 'matured' in the past few seasons in that we support our team in adversity rather than get on the players' backs.

Even when things aren't going the team's way, the crowd have stuck with the team which is more than can be said at many other clubs. This season, for example, has seen the crowd do its best to lift the players even though we've generally underperformed.

Average crowd of over 40000 for the past 8 years or so whilst spending the majority of the time in the bottom 4 or 5 speaks volumes of our support
How many clubs could do that on the back of being shite for decades?
Not many

When a mag comes on here and is being backed up in an argument with a Sunderland fan with more 'likes' than 'posts' I think that gives a decent indicator on who was in the wrong on this one.
This is why rivs gets in so many dull tedious debates on here because even when he's clearly wrong he just goes on and on and on.
When he's right he makes sure he brings it up countless times as well mind! ;)

Whereas you just spend your time here waiting, desperately... to be contrary.
Do you not realise that people pick up on this?
You're a bottom feeder.

"mind" - yawn
";)" - yawn

Shape up.

In the early days of the SoL our crowd was superb in terms of vocal support. Sadly its no longer the case. Yes its still better than most for noise if we have just scored, but for the most part we are like most other supporters, where the ground is often a morgue. That's not a dig at us, its the just the way football has gone.
For the most part we are in the bottom 3
It could be a factor
