I hated LOTR. I hate fantasy shite. GoT is immense.

It's not heavy on the magic and bollocks like that but it is heavy on tits, fanny and violence. Not to mention some very funny characters.

I view it more like a feudal medieval story, if you ignore the dragons.

What is radical about GoT is that he isn't frightened to kill off the main thrusts of the narrative in swift and brutal fashion.
