Post War Average League Attendance Table

Not open for further replies.

Look who's back, I'm sure this time tomorrow there will be a f***ing sad article in the mag fanzine about how Newcastle are above sunderland in this attendance table.
Aye. That was arguably in the top 3 cringeyiest things since they got relegated.

Someone read the thread
Someone wrote an article about it
Someone edited the article and approved it
And someone published it

And not once did anyone of them think it was an embarrassing idea.

For those posters not bored rigid by attendance threads - those who are, look away now!

how have we played more games than arsenal in the top flight in this time span ?

edit

oops realised its all games

I'm stunned it's that high
So am I, they were down to 5000 at one point and did nothing for over 20 years.

It doesn't help considering our capacity was 22k for a decade. Longer?
Nowhere near a decade. Still officially 29000 for the 93/94 season.

I'm surprised that the teams from Forest down to Ipswich are ahead of Blackburn, Bolton and Pompey. There you go.

I can't remember that. Cheers for confirming though.

That was the rothmans football yearbook figure, which may not have been up to date. The last decentish crowd at Roker looks like 28000 against the mags in October 92. We had 23000 for the Villa game the season after, so who knows what the capacity was for that?

The Villa game was a full house.

Sounds cruel, but having large attendances only matters if it makes a tangible difference to the club's income. We give loads away for free so don't really benefit from it.

A season ticket at the SoL is along the same price as a panini and coke at White Hart Lane.
