manquillo is better based on what? his handfull of games at liverpool or his few appearances at madrid. what was the point in signing love?
 
I remember when people well overrated Alan Hutton too and were desperate for him to come back for £8m

He was bang average. This Spanish kid sounds very promising though.
Yedlin is good enough for the lower league vermin up the road but that doesn't mean he's good enough for us.

Yeldin was really poor when he came here. Not much different from Love.

ill put it another way then the back 4 we had last season is miles better than the back 4 we had against boro

PVA and Yedlin should have been back up players no more. The pair of them have a lot to learn before they should be considered shoe ins at any premier league club and as you rightly point out we had to use a couple of midfielders to cover for them. Actually noticed on Saturday Papy made two tackles over the half way line.

Signing Love has no bearing on signing Yedlin. I'm not sure why you keep mentioning it.

Why does that mean we should sign Yedlin just because he is available?

Nah he wasn't ever really better than decent other than maybe Southampton away. He had a few decent games, very similar to when people on here were happy when we signed Coates after he had a few good games and we stayed up. He isn't good enough. Allardyce evidently didn't want him and now Moyes doesn't.
 
He improved throughout the year, and has a high ceiling - he's still young. With a full year of the premier league under his belt, this is the cheap(er) signing we need to make.

so pva and yedlin not good enough for sunderland, every player has alot to learn but some have nothing to work with both them have alot to offer and both can improve
 
We had 2 experienced and rated Pl managers and neither wanted yedlin.

BSA dropped him for Jones for months and signed eboue because he thought yedlin wasn't up to it.

He filled in but has deficiencies, he's not worth any sort of meltdown.

So why have we been trying all summer?

Wouldn't pay the 5m. I don't see how McNair is worth that but not Yedlin like.

This is the crux of our problem right here. Our team is so poor and Sam managed to find a system that allowed us to protect the defence and built confidence allowing us to steal goals. But to improve we need to dismantle that set up and by dismantling that set up, we will see just how poor or limited many of our players are. That system made all 4 defenders and Kirchhoff look much better than they are imo.

because hes better than what we have any signing that is better than what we have will improve the team. how is manquillo better than yedlin?
