Newcastle Manager Situation

Benitez would be a great appointment for them. Gerrard said he's the best tactical manager he's worked with.
If he's in before the Derby I'd be worried, he'd keep them up anarl. And they'd probably be on the up.
We,ve got big Sam...ffs.

And didn't it take Liverpool about 8 games to start understanding the zonal marking he was enforcing?

Bring him in!

Tactically he should be good if he's in charge of a top club?? He had Gerrard, Carragher, Hyypia, Hamann, Babbel, Alonso .... all top class players. At any level of football you can be as tactically good as you want, however a poor squad of players would still struggle.

Better than McClaren but they have far bigger problems than the manager. It's literally the only action they can take to salvage the situation with the transfer ship sailed and deeper rooted issues at scouting and boardroom level.

They can't score and their defence is about as watertight as Katie Price's flaps. Doon toon.

Not sure Rafa is the right man for a relegation fight......so sign him on. Think he'd do well if he had a full pre season with the squad though.

Great appointment on paper, but is it too late? He won't be staying if they go down either. Certainly gives them more hope than McClaren, and isn't good for us.

Everyone talking about how the 'new manager bounce' worked for us regarding the derby, we always lost the first game the manager came in for, I believe.

We did. If he is appointed today or tomorrow, that could be the game against the foxes on Monday night though.

That said, I am confident we won't get beat like. Think it will be a draw and that will be far more damaging to them than us.
