Newcastle Manager Situation

Do you think? Does he really need 'saved Newcastle from relegation' on his CV? Or conversely 'relegated with Newcastle'...?

If it does can't see it being anything other than til the end of the season in case it does go tits up & they get relegated.

Think it will be a end of a season get out, if/when he fails. If he keeps them up, massive bonus and a 2/3 year extension to his deal. Think it will make financial sense for him to take the deal. It's a no lose really. If he fails, will have an easy get out.

Now being said by the same people who said he would be doing the Leicester press conference that Leicester is probably too soon.
So the players who haven't been playing for him are expected to play for him knowing it's likely he'll be sacked.
The farce surrounding this whole charade would be enough to make me think twice about taking the job never mind the rest of the situation you'd be walking into

The longer this drags on the more confident I will be for the derby. The less time a new manager will have to drill that shambolic defence the better.

People haven't exactly been begging for his services tbh.

Tbf there's only Chelsea of the top clubs who've changed their manager since Benitez left Real Madrid and he's hardly going to go back there.

Still can't see this one coming off though. Regardless of what the mags think why would Benitez want to go there? He's one of the top managers in the World, managed some of the worlds biggest clubs, won the Champions League, UEFA Cup, league titles, domestic cups why would he take the leap down to take over at Newcastle, a poisoned chalice who, other than in the mags heads aren't even a big club anymore regardless of their crowds?

From coaching the likes of Ronaldo and Bale earlier in the season he's not going to be wanting to be f***ing around with the likes of Steven Taylor and Dummett.

They've had managerial masterminds like Kinnear, Carver and Pardew there in recent years because that's their level now no way is Benitez going there. He'd be a total fool if he did.

the mags are shitting themselves for the derby, most dont expect anything at LCFC but the derby .... its all kinds of massive.
with each delay has got to be helping us

I'll be absolutely gutted if he goes to them.
It's not really happening, is it?
Why in the hell would he go from Real Madrid to the scum? Doesn't make any sense at all.....

Isn't that the guy who said Schteve was meeting with the rest of the board, then came out and said the meeting never happened?

Not exactly the best of sources

Lot's of twitter bods more interested in fanfares than truth it has to be agreed. Anyways Rafa probably doesn't finish at the Tapas Bar until at least 2pm

very mint !

I really don't understand why he will go there?!? I know im obviously a Sunderland fan but the guy has worked for top clubs, is he really that desperate to work in England again?

^ that. I don't rate him at all. He might struggle at Nooocarstlle.

Mind I said that about Ranieri as well and he is doing canny! Tho not sure that's 100% his doing or just the team he got? Time will tell if he can keep it going or not. Swansea fell apart quite spectacularly after doing so well and a few others going the same way!
Leicester's season is just completely bizarre. Bang average players turned world class overnight along with a bit of luck. Danny Simpson, Wes Morgan, Robert Huth and Fuchs on paper looks one of the worst backlines in the league but somehow they are on the verge of winning the title. Nothing about Ranieri's record suggests he's capable of what he's currently achieving. I'd say Ranieri and Benitez are actually quite similar up until this season, both seem to have managed at the highest level whilst underachieving in the majority of jobs.
