Nigel Pearson......

This is a statement based on fuck all evidence.

He took a team from L1 to safety in the PL and left a solid legacy for a club to establish itself as a PL side for the foreseeable future but many on here like to judge him on perception with very little evidence to justify their claims.

I'm saying he would be far from a disaster but I'm using evidence of the past to make my assumptions.

Open your minds people and analyse his career so far.,

The cavalry has arrived, you look like General Custer on this thread.

why was he sacked then

The guy's an English version of Di Canio. Nutty as a fruitcake.
I can understand objections to Allardyce, but is Allardyce might leave a bitter taste in the mouth, this bloke would have you willing to rip out your own throat.

Surely the last thing a troubled team needs is an even more troubled manager?

What makes you think he's troubled?

He's not a "bully".

You're judging him by perception.

The players at Leicester would have ran through walls for him, they didn't feel intimidated by him and used to laugh about the press incidents that happened last season.

One thing Pearson will do is banish anyone who isn't up for the fight or is detrimental to team harmony. At Leicester he refused to play players on £40k a week in the Championship who were a bad influence, he got rid of them all in the end and left Leicester with a team who are one of the most bonded and closest teams in football.
Two more reasons why Nigel could be a good choice:
1) connect w Catts and get the best not worst out of him (share common bond as former captains of Boro).
2) recruit the same coaches he had at LCFC including a certain Sunderland hero.

I think he likes ketchup :)

Out of the realistic choices that have been mentioned, Pearson is easily my first choice.

Not too old, brought Leicester up from Championship with 102 points, winning it as easily as Reidy did back in 1999.

He got Leicester playing good football with a run that put Poyet's miracle in the shade. What's more, they have just carried on from there in his absence.

His relationship with the media is irrelevant to me and I am not looking to be his mate.

Bring him in and stick with him even if we go down.

I've been in his company a couple of times when he was a player and I found him to be bloody horrible.
We aren't recruiting for the Director of the Church Choir, but a man who can kick some ass.

More importantly, not just "stick with him" but remind him to bring his stick!

Diplomatic faux-pas by his son given who owns the club. Pearson's position was untenable after that.....especially as he saw no need to make a public apology on his son's behalf....

That was the final straw, was more than that........I can't see Shorty touching another basket case

Look having seen the last few seasons at Sunderland where we have made great escapes routine I know when a shit or bust situation presents itself and that is exactly where Leicester were last year, it was the last throw of the dice and the players found something special in those last few games and were outstanding and to retrospectively say Pearson's approach with the players was the catalyst is stretching the bounds of reasonableness.

Something clicked and you fully deserved to stay up but you can't get away from the fact that for the majority of the season this 'connection' this 'caring approach to players lives' wasn't delivering.

Over the season it was enough to keep you up but doesn't stop me from thinking that Pearson's bad qualities outweigh his good, if he comes then he'll get my backing but he wouldn't be my choice
iirc, even during their bad stretch all the pundits were praising the fight in Leicester and the run of bad luck etc.

The bloke is a complete and utter bellend. His behaviour on the touchline has fallen below the standard of Pardew and when the pressure was really on him it was clear he found it very difficult to cope with. I wouldn't touch him with a bloody bargepole.
See my comments about the church choir.

The guy is about as wanted as a bad case of the shits

Looper , arrogant and will in all likelihood alienate man fans within a couple of months

He got results and had Leicester playing some brilliant counter attacking football in my opinion

Him or Allardyce I'll be happy with
