You only need to listen to some of his interviews or witness his touchline antics to recognise it (in my opinion). There's something not quite right.
IIRC, Catts was also captain of Boro before transfer to us. Believe Nigel would back a resurgent Catts.I like Pearson.
Thought he was a great captain for Boro and says it as he sees it.
In my opinion he'd certainly sort out any "underperformers" at your club.
Having said that , Allardyce has a good track record , and would also be a decent choice (imo).
He treated the owners money like his own and would never over spend. With huge emphasis on scouting to get in bargains. Vardy, Mahrez, Drinkwater, Albrighton, Chester, Brady for a grand total of about £3m to name a few.
If People want to judge him on a couple of incidents rather than what he's achieved then I think that's short sighted.
Beyond the results on the pitch for us, he also revolutionised the club off it. With much lauded scouting and sports science departments.
Even though he's gone, the legacy he left in place should serve this club well for a long time to come.
His media face might not be great, but the guy ran a football club how it should be run.

Players with hunger and desire to achieve, but also a team mentality. He's got rid of "better players" because they didn't buy into a team ethic. Fans would moan at the time but he's been proven right every time.
Never any guarantees and you might need to go down to come back, put I think he'd give you a team to be proud of within two years. His way of working takes time, but has always paid dividends for us.
I hope you don't get him as I'd be worried about losing his old setup.
Wrong on all 3 countsQuality insight there mate......the herd won't read it though. A) it's too long......B) they hate fans of other clubs....C) their minds are already made up from the overdose of social media they subscribe to.
What about Nigel Short?I'm out on the simple grounds I have never a Nigel who has been anything but an utter spunk bubble.
Wrong on all 3 countsSunderland Fan here.
School of hard knocks. Been fortunate in my life to meet a few exceptional men who turned around shitty organizations and made them world class. So recognize one when I see one. The Nigel Pearsons of the world exist, but are rare diamonds.I'm not including you in the "herd" though....![]()
Even when we were seven points adrift I had realistic hope and expectations of getting out because we played well most weeks and didn't get the results we deserved but we were always competitive. This wasn't blind optimism as a fan as I've seen Brian Little, Peter Taylor and Micky Adams Leicester teams get relegated in which it was apparent all season they weren't good enough for the top flight. Even after we lost 2-1 at Arsenal Arsene Wenger said we were the best team at the Emirates that season and couldn't believe we were bottom of the table.
The Claudio Ranieri side are all Pearson players and over the last 17 PL games this Leicester side have shown form that could win the title. Pearson took Leicester from League One to 14th in the PL but all his detractors want to focus on why he was bottom of the PL at one point.
Not a Leicester fan, but ... IIRC ... all the pundits were praising their performance during that stretch.3 wins from 23 games in the middle part of the season, but you were playing well, right?

Wouldn't want this man anywhere near SAFC even if he won the Premier League, FA Cup & Champions League with us!!! He isn't a nice person at allWe played well in a lot of our games and lots of managers and pundits were saying we were too good to be where we were.
It's more or less the same players who were part of that bad run who've collected on average 2.17 pts per match over the last 17 PL matches. Our form over the last half a season would have us finishing second last season if we maintained it over a full season.
How about only for two years? After all, we are not recruiting for director of the church choir.Wouldn't want this man anywhere near SAFC even if he won the Premier League, FA Cup & Champions League with us!!! He isn't a nice person at all
You're just an ostrich though iircHe's an absolute prick. He also strikes me as someone that thinks he's more intelligent and articulate as he really is.
No thanks.
