The plane fly past is back on...

Anyone who thinks that this plane flyby is embarrassing, how embarrassing do you think it would be to pull out now because we're scared people will laugh if we're relegated.

Mag supporters are aware of this campaign and have tried to stop it going ahead by complaining to GoFundMe, we would look like complete cowards now if we pulled out, so why not just get behind the idea or leave it to those who want to?

History will show that you were against the idea (if anyone even cares) so what have you got to gain by keep going on about it?
Because it's not only the fans who want this that will be made to look like sad wankers, it's all of us.
Only one of them punched a horse, only a handful turn up with spunky bedsheets every defeat but we lump them all together. That's what'll happen with us so why can't people against it speak for themselves?

No need to get so touchy.

I said it was the same mindset, not exactly the same scenario. It is the same mindset, because it is something they won’t give a crap about if we get relegated and they (as looks likely) stop up, the same as we didn’t give a crap about the reminder we lost the cup final because we had a cracking day/weekend out and they didn’t. Also, you state the banner is about us beating Newcastle 5 times in a row in for the first time in our history, well I’m sure you know it is not a new derby record because they have done it previously. For that reason I don’t think it is an achievement worth crowing about, if we had set a new record then maybe, not when we’ve just equaled their record. If you remember, when they set the record back in 2006 we had just been relegated, so any mention of 5 in a row got forgotten about as they had a much bigger reason to laugh at our relegation. Even though it is now ourselves who have won 5 in a row, I’m sure the mags would take that if it coincides with us going down.

We beat them for the 5th time, and that triggered a protest. We're now going to prod them with a flying stick during it.

We didn't stage a protest after the cup final loss. Newcastle didn't reach the cup final.

You're drawing a parallel where there isn't one, because you're massively overthinking it.

It's either funny, or it isn't funny. Both views are valid. If you're getting beyond that, you've applied too much thought to something that requires none.

You're selling yourself short, this is Richard Keys and Tubes off Soccer AM levels of bantz. Rio Ferdinand and Jimmy Bullard have got wind and are gutted they didn't think of it.

Football = serious business.

We must all PONDER THE RAMIFICATIONS.

They can speak for themselves I'm just not sure what they are getting out of it now, the planes booked and it's going to go ahead regardless of any comments on this thread, people have donated. Obviously people exceptions have been noted in this thread now for everyone to see so it seems like now's the time to get behind the idea or just leave it for others to enjoy.

you are being way, way too compellingly logical and savvy for the dunces on here who do not seem remotely capable of grasping what a shite, laughing stock pathetic gesture this will prove to be.

Spot on.
Ditto the mag tail-ends who carried out a funeral for St James park. I'm sure many mags cringed at this - to us it was gold dust as the media depicted it as something they were generally all signed on to.

Don't speak too soon. Your casual and generic abuse has certainly changed my mind. Keith, quick, cancel the plane - we are all dunces and just don't realise it.

I thought it was only the pro plane group being offensive to people?

We get the argument he's trying to make but the logic doesn't make sense. As Keith has already pointed out the Cup Final banner had nothing to do with their team, this is about a fixture which includes both teams and is exactly the fixture where we should care about Newcastle.

If you can't see the difference between those protests and this light hearted bit of fun then I'm wasting my time on you.

The bottom line is that we're not really in a position to take the piss are we, we could be in the bottom 3 by the time our bantastic little plane flies over.

We won the derby. They lost the derby. Their protest was triggered by the derby. The banner is about the derby. This is about the derby.

We are in the perfect position to take the piss. We are their derby rivals and no matter how shit and relegatable they think we are, we have still done another double over them. It sent them in to boycoutt mode, they tried to hire a plane, we sent one up behind it. They couldn't even get their plane up. Where is the bit where we need to be careful of taking the piss?

I'm not sure how you worked that out. Being in danger of relegation when they're not, is not a perfect position from which to be taking the piss.

I explained my working out in the other sentences following that one. FFS.

The derby, like.

Your ramblings after that sentence did not explain how we were in a 'perfect position' to take the piss. It gave some reasons why we could take the piss, but it certainly didn't describe a perfect position.

Just because we won the derby doesn't mean we are in a perfect position to take the piss, far from it.

That would be the bit where we look like probably being relegated imminently.

And also the bit where we have merely equalled their 5 consecutive wins record, as opposed to surpassing it. Somewhat overly exuberant and misguided triumphalism in relation to a mere 'score draw' type scenario, perhaps?
