The plane fly past is back on...

If my bank doesn't halt the transfer (I'm in Italy at the moment), I've just hoyed some money in.

I'm actually not in favour of the idea. But whether or not it actually goes ahead, the idea now needs to take off. There are also some proper tarts on this thread who have embarrassed themselves and the 8% thing and attempted shutdown was a poor show.

Ive put a bit in to go towards those fees knowing that its now for charity and hope that this part of the operation will shine through. Its my Daughters birthday today, and this time last year she was intensive care for over a month. She survived, and we had the miracle run at Chelsea. Funnily enough that helped cope. So this is for the charity side.

I'll plant a tree (or small perennial) instead, to part offset the carbon prankprint.

Good stuff mate , I think this is a pivotal post in the campaign. The arguing is done , it's going to happen , now let's make sure it doesn't stay " small time " as some have chosen to put it. Surely even the nay sayers can now rise above their objections and get the money out...or will they sit on principals.

Any idea what time it will happen. Not sure what time KO actually is but it would be a nightmare if it happened at half time.

15-20 minutes in would be ideal imo

15 - 20 minutes wouldn't be ideal bearing in mind what happens on 17 minutes.

The kick off is 4.00PM Sunday 19th April live on Sky, I'll be asking them to get there for 4.30PM.

For clarity ... I'm paying fuck all.

But everyone knows the mags are morons because they're deluded fools and that's funny to us, yeah?

I think my biggest problem with this is the hypocrisy.

There's nothing deluded about it. The banner carries a statement of fact.

It's not for your viewpoint , it's the fact that you keep giving it , the jehovas are tolerable once in a while , entitled to their opinion , but if they hung about for two days coming back every 10 mins you would get sick . We,'ve heard you, sad, like them, small, blah blah. No need to repeat .

For the majority of people it really, really was.

But now it seems general opinion is very much split.

Why do SUNDERLAND fans care what other clubs think of us?

We are Sunderland. Don't like us? Don't care!

Can't you post this in the other thread that's been made specifically for this discussion?

This is the exact attitude I hate.

You obviously haven't read all of the posts, I explained why I'd tagged you in a post and apologised if you had taken offence for a misunderstanding

As a long standing SAFC fan I was heartened to see a thaw in relations around the time of the tragic plane crash in Ukraine.

The rivalry got too much a few years ago with idiots on both sides taking matters too far.

I hope this plane fly past incident doesn't stoke the rivalry into bitter acrimony once more.

However, that said, £20 has been donated to the PayPal account (although it will be paid to charity now since the required sum has been collected for the plane)

Always FTM, just be kind and consider wearing a condom as you're doing it.

I don't think it will stoke things up badly, let's face it Newcastle fans don't need us to take the piss to cause bother. They manage that all by themselves when we beat them in a derby by smashing their city up and punching horses.
Well done for donating as you say it's for charity now and if we raise a decent amount it will maybe distract from it just being about the plane and being about raising money for a good cause

I think a lot of objections seem to be the five in the row message as it looks like gloating, though the intention was a photo bomb of the boycott. Maybe then we should think a bit more creatively, if someone like the bloke with the black and white shoes and the CapitalOne flag was in charge of the banner had they managed to book it, what slogan would he have put on it?

It was your idea in response to their planned plane so you're biased I'm afraid ;)

There's a vote about the plane in the parsnip.

No I know, what I'm saying is the obvious slogan is five in a row (why it came to my head when I saw the original post about their plane), and though I don't agree with a lot of the objections, it would be a shame if we are divided on it before it sets off. if there's an alternative we could think of that avoids the "what if we get relegated, small time etc" it's worth thinking about.

5 IN A ROW is the slogan, the rest of the message is up for debate.

@Keith S30S where is everything at so I don't have read through the whole thread?

Did the money get refunded from go fund me and is the plane booked etc?

We've raise circa £1K, the cost is £960 so any further funds are for chairty :-)

I'm waiting for the bloke to contact me re: paying a deposit this morning.

I've banked £400, the other £600ish will be banked Tues / Wed next week. We'll pay the balance on Thursday.

We've had to drop the FTM because no doubt the police will say it's breach of the peace or some such.

So it's:

5 IN A ROW..................

or

..................5 IN A ROW
