Thanks. First time I've heard this discussed.
I agree but there seems to be constant moaning about us wasting 14m on a player that is 23, scored 10 goals in a season that had him play out wide mostly and as a sub for a large part. Didn't want my outburst to be lost in amongst the negativity.

No you don't! You have to be a f***ing pansy to think it means anything other than "Currently I'm a Liverpool player and their plans are to go to America, while another club has agreed to pay my current team for my services, there's not much that I can do expect keep keep my fitness up and keep working towards playing football, my agent will deal with what I want, when that gets agreed I'll come back"

Seriously everyone needs to stop f***ing being such little girls!!!

This, he is a good professional that is all.

No they didn't. Carroll signed way before pre season last year when Liverpool didn't even go to the states.
Downing they accepted a bid a week before the season started.
Theres denial and then there is this:lol:

I'm not sure why people are trying to paint this as nothing to worry about or normal behaviour.
Can't see how him playing yesterday and flying out to America is anything other than a negative for us.
That's not to say he won't sign he may very well but it doesn't make this usual or positive.
cant see why people chose to ignore that it happens all of the time. He's a Liverpool player and will act like it until he signs for another team.

When does it happen? Players leave pre season all the time when a bid is accepted. I honestly can't think of another time when a club accepts a bid of £14m for a player and then plays them in a meaningless friendly the next day.
As I said he may still sign but this is not normal practice.

Downing attacked Rodgers for the way he had been told about West Hams interest, he was even going to start first game of the season

Borini did exactly the same thing before he went to Liverpool. Could be a tactic to try and get a payoff from Liverpool. Hardly like we've just suddenly put in a bid. He's had plenty of chances to say that he's not interested and stop negotiations

"Since the first day he moved to Roma, Fabio's wish has been to become a Roma player," Borini's agent De Marchi told Italian radio Tele Radio Stereo.

"I want to stay at Roma," the striker told reporters on Monday. "I believe in the project and I don't judge this season as all bad, even if it did not finish as my team-mates and I would had hoped."
