But where is the need if a deal was so imminent? It just doesn't make sense.
Ya no when your leaving work u have to work up untill the day u leave u can't just fuck a week off because Your leaving, what if we can't agree terms then he's missed a full week of pre season for nowt and then has too fly out on his own

You know football is totally different to any other job. Players are regularly left out of tours for transfer reasons. He won't even be close to the Liverpool team come august so doubt they are too arsed. All I'm saying is this is going to run and run for ages.

But a deal is clearly nowhere near completion.

Would he fly there if there was a chance terms could be agreed on tomorrow? Meaning he will fly all te way back? No chance, going to be another 10 days at least yet now. How many games are Liverpool playin there?
If his agent sorts the financials then he can be back in a day. If he has told us he doesn't fancy it then we will have already moved on.

Not that much to see here.

He is contracted to them nothing whatso ever changes untill he signs on the dotted line

This is a negative development and there's no point in trying to dress it up in any other way.
I agree Liverpool might not sanction the sale of Borini without wrapping up the Remy deal first but even so if they are confident of both deals going through it makes perfect sense for the players concerned to remain in this country.
If through unforeseen circumstances the deal collapsed then fly Borini out go America but the day after announcing a fee had been agreed to take a player on a pre-season tour scheduled to last until August 4th .... it makes no sense unless either the player or club has had a change of heart.
There is no delay by the club. They've agreed the terms. The only thing remaining is Borini's personal terms.

I still think we will sign him btw @Nelson! I am just expecting a bit of a drawn out process now.

Hopefully he has gone to scare us and pay him more.

I agree it's probably got a little way to go yet. There's always stuff going on behind the scenes we know nothing about. It will be interesting to see what the next developments are.

Get ready for a lot of half baked stories taking a punt on him traveling meaning the deal is off.....and then the meltdown on here which will inevitably follow. Until SAFC or LFC confirm either way I think people are just guessing.

My view too, and you would certainly hope so.
I am not sure of the whole transfer process but I thought a club makes a bid if its accepted all parties talk player and agent and the buying clubs manager and whoever else to agree personal terms.
Then the player signs.
I must be wrong just seems odd to me that he's flown out of the country with a fee agreed.
