I know you will disagree rg but I think a lot of Johnson's pressure has been from pitching the ball at the batsmen at speed. This is far easier tactic - if you can bowl at express pace - than hitting the corridor of uncertainty. It was made clear in advance that they would use this bodyline tactic against trott and it succeeded in getting him to back off to square leg then bullying him off the tour.

Trying to intimidate batsmen is by no means original for quick bowlers, but i do think australia have practiced it systematically to near 1932 levels in this series.

You dead right mate not many,but in a way that means their deserve more credit especially the bowlers for performing to the standard their have.

It has been an unmitigated disaster. The series started with stalwarts like Trott, Prior and Swann cemented in their positions and to lose all three for differing reasons in a single series is a massive shock to the system.

The preparation before the series was poor. The weather didn't help but the quality of opposition was no test whatsoever to the players and left them massively undercooked.

A complete shambles of a tour and has marked the end of a good spell for the England side. These things are cyclical and the ECB and the relevant people need to think with clear minds to prepare the side for the future

As people have already said , you could understand the previous 5 nil as the Aussies had their best team of all time playing, but this one does not really make me feel that they should be losing by 4 or even 5! :shock:

Just watching the highlights, nice body line full toss at Stokes and the usual abuse at batsmen after they got out. Second innings, Stokesy just crack the twat with your bat.

Aye. The antics of them c*nts has soured it for me. I watched an interview with Johnson earlier on Sky and he spoke quite well, he's clearly proven a point to the world and he should be given credit for doing so. Thing is, all I could think was - you're a f***ing wanker and I'd love to wrap a bat around your skull.......

Only thing worse than a bad loser is a bad winner. For me, that is the current Australian cricket team.

Thing is I have never seen Lyon, Harris or Siddle do it, just this wanker. Threw the ball at Petersen in Melbourne for stepping away then refused to apologize - why hasn't he been warned or fined? He wouldn't dare pull this shit in England.
 
Great to see all the pink around the SCG for Jane McGrath day. She was an unbelievably courageous young lady and I think it's fantastic that the work Jane did and Glenn continues to do so is helping so many families in Australia. I really hope that today raises a massive amount awareness and money for the McGrath Foundation and long may it continue.

On the subject of Glenn, after all them years of 0-5 predictions, he didn't do it before this series and it looks pretty damn likely that it's going to happen again. He seems a very kind and humble man off the field who is in a happy place again. Great to see. :cool:

Was just about to post similar. Johnsons tash is pink today aswell.
 
The last series over there, a lot of us with the BA went into the ground and when we donated money and then again whenever they came around with buckets, we were given pink bandanas. Most of us forgot we had them on our heads and wrists and ended up accidentally walking home through a gay area of Sidney (honestly).

Was a cracking day with a great atmosphere... and a confidence building evening... it's good to know the gays like you as well

Couldn't stand him as an English cricket fan growing up but seems a thoroughly decent fella off the pitch.
