Warne and cook

Exactly, results count and Cook has got the better of both. Ask any Aussie what they think of Clarke's captaincy. There are several ways to manage a team - in work as in cricket - the only right way is the one that produces results with the staff available.

What a clueless numpty![DOUBLEPOST=1386582782][/DOUBLEPOST]
Forgot about Strauss, like?

Cook was slightly ahead of Strauss, at least until this series.

Cook: P16, W9, D6, L1 (win percent = 56%)
Strauss: P50, W24, D16, L10 (win percent = 48%)

In hindsight I would have Strauss back in a heartbeat!

Warne doesn't seem impressed with cooks captaincy, had a few pops over the series

Sour grapes or fair enough
Why would it be sour grapes? Granted Warne is Australian but he is one of the best cricketers of all time and played in one of the best cricketing teams of all time, I doubt he has any reason to feel hurt by the success of a far lesser side against a far lesser team from his own country.

Warne was a very aggressive cricketer and immersible successful with it, Cook is a pretty conservative one, there's no reason to assume he doesn't like Cook's captaincy for any other reason beyond the fact that he just thinks its a bit boring and ineffective. Which it is.

Fair enough. Said it before on here during the last week but he isnt captain material. Doesnt have the personality for it.

Who would you make captain instead? We aren't blessed with too many outstanding candidates.

Prior is in poor form, Petersen is a loose cannon and already failed, Bell too quiet, Trott out of sorts. Is Swann captain material? Outside central contracts Colly is pushing 40, Andrew Gale is a gutsy leader although he's not a test class batsman.

IMHO Prior does have the personality to be a captain, he's very vocal, always encouraging his team mates and has a positive outlook on how to play the game. Also I think taking the pressure of captaincy away from Cook would help his batting. As for the pressure of captaincy affecting Prior's batting, coming in at 7, he's either arriving at 400-5 and free to play some shots or it's 120-5 and in need of a performance anyway.

Well his batting couldn't get too much much worse I suppose.

Lucky to keep his place on recent form though.

Can't really blame him for the inept fielding shown in the first innings, if you ask me some of the senior players are letting him down big time. Everytime I see Swann on camera in the dressing room he just seems to be arsing about like the class clown. Have a laugh fair enough, but they are getting humilited by a bunch of f***ing rank average cricketers, Clarke aside.

But Clarke is a ****, f***ing typical Aussie, all f***ing gob
