Get ready for a broken face

What is f***ing annoying is snidey chops Clarke, walking from slip to chat to close in fielders directly in front of the batsmen, just purley to break their concentration, what the fuck is he talking to them about? "Try and catch the ball if they hit it?"

We are still too soft, Cook should do the same, oh for an Ian Botham in the side.

I hope Broad f***ing does Clarke again, and we need to be careful about changing our tactics, yes let the bastard have a couple of overs of hostile stuff, but play to our strengths which are in the main line and length, even though at times Broad does have some good short pitched stuff in his locker. Maybe if Stokes plays we can afford to let broad bowl flat out for a few overs

Not being a cricket man what's the crack with sledging? People seem to be getting outraged over it which I don't understand in the context of cricket. Being called a pussy wouldn't really bother me personally. Can someone explain?

They lost by 380 runs?

So when we were regularly blowing thr Aussies away was it becuase they were shrinking away? Or was it perhaps that we simply outplayed them?[DOUBLEPOST=1385481703][/DOUBLEPOST]

No, but implying a fellow sportsman is about to get injured is out of order.

.

The mental aspect is a huge factor in sport of course

Man U were not Man U for years without that mental edge on the rivals as well as a (smaller) edge in skill

If you can get under the skin of the batsman and force him into second guessing or distract him from the job in hand then he's going to give his wicket away. There are ways and means of doing it. England do it as do every other team. But there is a bit of a line between a bit of chat around the bat and warning someone they are going to be hurt. In fairness Anderson knew he was going to face hostile bowling, so I think the warning was a bit unnecessary. Basically it was Clarke being a tit.

Fair enough. As I say I don't watch cricket (apart from some of the Ashes when I can) so I don't fully understand it. From an outsider's view it seems very little to me (threatening injury may be a bit OTT but it happens in other sports) but that's fair enough.

It was Clarke doing what Australian fans do when they're team is winning, be a loud mouthed prick knowing victory will back them up. When the roles are reversed, he'll disappear into the background and be as invisible as the Australian fans will become.

Stock standard Australian response that. Press do the same.

Aussie media appear to be ramming home the 'fact' that England can dish it out but they cannot take it, nonsense. England didn't complain to the ICC, channel 9 picked it up via stump mic and the ICC acted accordingly.

Why would England be frightened of the convicts? We have won the last three series, 4 our out the last 5. We still have the superior side, the Aussies are mentally weak. They are using this victory to paper over the cracks of a very average side and a fractured dressing room.

I can only see Trotty's departure bringing our squad close together, we need to have a siege mentality; bloke out the Aussie moaning and focus on Adelaide. Our batsmen need to perform, smack Johnson for a few boundaries and his confidence will be shot. Another plus is we will be on a ground that will suit us, lots of batsmen have good memories and we will have about 40% of the ground support.

I hope we ram all their talk down the convicts throats.

The press still sticking it to us. And just been reading the team were getting a load of grief on their flight out (yesterday?) and some who went on a day trip got abused as well. Seems they are going all out to make it as uncomfortable as possible.

Also see Lehman has told Flower to basically get fucked and turned down the offer of a meeting to discuss the conduct issues on and off the field.

Wish someone would just give that fat headed fuck a slap.

Lehman is an utter cock.

Lot of nothing really. The aussies are poor winners and bad in defeat but put it in football parlance. Would we be so outraged if a fullback had said to a winger. 'go past me again and i'll break you f'ing leg?' Hardly.....

Code of Behaviour

Preamble
Cricket is a game that owes much of its unique appeal to the fact that it is to be played not only within its
Laws, but also within the spirit of the game. Any action seen as abusing this spirit causes injury to the
game itself.
Embracing the spirit of the game means participating, either as a player or as an official, fairly and
exhibiting respect for other players and officials and the game‟s traditional values such as graciousness
in defeat and humility in victory.
Cricket has a distinct place in Australian society and history. As an element in Australia‟s national
identity, cricket plays a significant role. This status brings with it particular responsibilities for players
and officials to conform to high standards of fair play and personal behaviour on and off the field.
This Code of Behaviour is intended to protect and enshrine such important qualities and standards so
that all may continue to enjoy the game of cricket now and in the future.
