Short Is Failing Us

I would suggest you check out exactly who owns Arsenal mate................theres a long standing competition for total control of the club between the two billionaires on the board..............

The Russian, Usmanov (net worth $16bn) and Stan Kroenke the American, net worth a mere $4bn.

I read recently that Arsenal's match day income at the Emirates is something like £3m.

Its around that..........in their last accounts 26 home fixtures and 5 concerts brought in over £90 million...

You're being naive. People can say it's a business, which it is but in order to run this business successfully you need to have a good team. He's failed us massively in that department.

Not really - you need a team capable of surviving.

This team is capable of surviving. We're rock bottom through a combination of a tough fixture list and a chaotic dressing room - we could be comfortably mid table mid/late Jan assuming we appoint well.

Well I'm as fickle as the next man.
Fully behind Short till he sacked Paolo.
Cursing Short after he sacked Paolo.
Praising Short's judgement if he appoints Poyet.

How do you know it's capable of surviving? Most of our new signings aren't even playing and on top of that Sessegnon and Mignolet are no longer with us.

Our new striker has yet to score in the league.

I don't know. You, however, seem to know that relegation is inevitable.

If he doesn't appoint a good manager/head coach then I think it's time for him to call it a day and get out.

He's sold Mignolet and Sessegnon and failed to replace them.

We needed more quality and we've brought in bargain basement players.

There is no communication and there appears to be no direction. Commercially we may be doing well but that will count for very little if we are relegated which is looking inevitable.

Very disappointing.

daft lad.

Ellis Short should be given the freedom of the city for having anything to do with our basket case of a club.
I bet he rues the day he met Niall Quinn and was hypnotised by his Irish charm.

He is the single reason why we are not in the position of Leeds or worse still Coventry City. Remember when he arrived the members of Drumaville were about to lose fortunes due to the Irish property crash

This man has fuck all alegience to Sunderland football club yet has pumped fortunes of his own money to keep us in the premier league yet a small amount of people are beginning to turn against him and the amount will increase should we be relegated.

Please don't tell me he is making fortunes from the club as outside the top six I very much doubt anyone is making much money.

As for rich Arabs coming in to save us, this will not happen to us and we will end up with some chicken farmer or the likes.

Shit post.[DOUBLEPOST=1381496356][/DOUBLEPOST]
Yep 7 games in, nothing more to play for!!

I mean throughout his tenure, not this season alone.[DOUBLEPOST=1381496588][/DOUBLEPOST]

It is possible that someone else may have bought us out had Short not decided to. It's all ifs and but's. At the end of the day he did buy us out and as such must take responsibility for making a number of poor decisions.

Is he not accountable just because he put his hand in his pocket? West Brom and Norwich have a better squad than we have.

In my opinion Short has backed his managers and ultimately been let down.

Virtually everyone was happy with O'neil when he arrived, yet no one could have foreseen how badly he performed.

After that appointment he took a risk which unfortunately blew up in his face
However he has acted quickly before it's too late and I now believe he has the right man in charge.

Yes we are struggling right now , but even if we are relegated no one can say that The owner has sold us short.

By the way , I disagree that we have a worse squad than those you mentioned.
With good management we should be around mid table .

f***ing hell.

Without him we would be absolutely fucked.

Some people are so short sighted.

He's invested a shit load and be let down by the staff below him

Appointed Bruce and MON at correct time.

Di Canio deserves some credit for keeping us up, although Wigan didn't get many points in end.

He has made a few mistakes this summer for sure, mainly trusting this idiot De Fanti

But where on earth would we be without him, lower Championship at best I reckon[DOUBLEPOST=1381503373][/DOUBLEPOST]
Like Leeds, Sheff Wed, Sheff Utd, Forest, Derby and Leicester? Nothing is certain.

You are the one who started the thread criticisng him! This is where we would be without Short.

It looks like we'll be playing them with Short next season, that's for sure.

Nobody is denying he hasn't tried, and spent a shedload of cash doing so. But he has taken us nowhere that Quinny and Drummaville didn't get us to first. Basically, he has let himself, and us, down.

see post #133 shit for brains.

Yet another poor post Ned. Please try harder and offer something more constructive.[DOUBLEPOST=1381511919][/DOUBLEPOST]

Of course he has sold us short. Yet again we have failed to bring in sufficient quality after selling our best players.
