Think Bairstow needs to get a score in both innings or could find himself dropped for the next test.

Don't know who they would bring in, can't see them dropping Root down the order now. Will Ravi come back ;-)

Haway then Bairstow, take your chance.

Whats Bumbke on about? Course he's watching the ball.

Doubt it like cos whilst others are getting done for single figures his scores of 30 odd will keep him in.

30 odd at number 6, doesn't bowl. Doesn't contribute enough to the team. Needs 50/60's

They could bring in that Australian born ex-roofer again

Kwajha(sp) is much better then Ed Cowan. Michael Clarke is going to fire, he can't keep getting jaffas. Rodgers is playing on a ground that he has played alot of cricket on.

England's batsmen need to start doing their job and put runs on the board.

bell hasn't scored a run in 40 minutes....slight concern

From what Ive seen of him (Usman) he isnt a number 3 (offers up too many chances). Clarke might not fire if we get him in early. Rogers looks good mind.

Bell is playing beautifully.

We'll see, but I reckon even if he gets a duck next innings he will be in the next test. I just dont see his place being under threat at the mo.

That replay just now suggested he wasn't. Bumble problably knows his stuff better than you I would have thought n arl.

That replay showed nowt man, hence he had to say 'in my opinion'. Well yes he will know much more than me, although Id back my eye sight against his any day ;-)

Agar getting runs has been a blessing cos his bowling is poor compared to Lyons from what Ive seen.

It's not his eyes so much as the time he gets his head over the shot-late-which suggests he wasn't watching it all the way. IMO. Proves nowt of course.

Nas has analysed bairstow and his problem is the cross bat towards mid wicket when he should be playing a straigh batted shot.

I think Bairstows place should be looked at. Unless he does really well in this test i think he should be dropped. Put Root where he was and bring compton back in. It puts Root in a more comfortable area, lets him get more tests under his belt and takes some of the pressure off him.

I dont agree with either point. Bairstow has done okay and Root is an opener.

Edit: The clammer to constantly change the team is baffling.

And Compton has failed, is the wrong side of 30, and has the grand total of 9 Tests to his name (This is Root's 8th I think).

The clammer to bring Compton back is just bizarre IMO.

There's some proper betwetters on this thread like.

Why the sudden clamour for Compton to be brought back in? He looked rank average when he did play, has never really stood out even in first class cricket and is the wrong side of 30. Much better to give batsmen like Bairstow and Root the opportunity to prove themselves when they're clearly the future.

People need to stop panicking when a batsman makes one or two low scores.

EDIT: May as well saved myself the bother of typing after reading SP's post now
