I fancy Shiv to get a treble here and bail them out

Not sure who's gonna stay with him like

How the ferk did they get promoted?

Surely Northants were a better side

12 overs left tonight, plus the extra 8 if we are close enough.

Again we look hesitant to throw the ball to Borthwick...

Its baffling whats happened to him. I think he really could be a Test class leggie - potential wise. Thing is, he can't seem to find any length whatsoever. If it isn't a long-hop, its a full-toss :-?

His batting is decent though.

4 overs gone for 34  ill shut up

No idea whats happened to him.....

In other news, Breese gets Wainwright. Looking likely we'll be playing until 7pm-ish.

Edit - 3 overs left after this one, I think you need 8 down to get the extra half hour??

Stumps. Three wickets to get tomorrow. Forecast set for no rain :-)

There's no hard and fast rule, I'd have thought 7 would normally be enough, possibly even less or fewer against Derbyshire on this form. Maybe if Shiv was still in they might have done enough to earn a break.

Does the rule definitely apply in the Championship? If it does I'm amazed we didn't get it. I'd half have expected them to ask for it so they could get home and save a night's hotel expenses.

3 an over Derby would have to score at to win so technically it's possible on scoring rate but impossible with the 4 batsmen charged with getting them.

Well done Jennings on his ton.

192 all out champion 8-)

Rushworth ending with a 10 wicket haul for the match

Well deserved. He's come on leaps and bounds over the last few seasons.

Great win for us. Flying now. All those clueless journalists who predicted we'd finish bottom want sacking. Wankers.

Are you kidding. Derbyshire lads were looking to take it into a last day. Given the position they could pretty much hit the town and get absolutely smashed without much to do this morning. 20 minutes play, a spot of lunch then a nice leisurely drive home in the sunshine!!
