Anderson is a superb bowler on all surfaces these days. He has just removed three of the most successful batsmen of the last decade in their own backyard with beauties.

Its seems no matter what type of pitch they prepare they cant match our attack.

Bresnan is poor mind.

Past their best will be the excuse.

dont wish to piss on his or your parade but the Indians are more interested in their next pay day in the IPL.

Id imagine Sehwag would rather be playing in the Big Bash in Australia

Sad that test cricket has come to this

I cast the line and you didn't disappoint ;-)

The lad could bowl 93mph and take 5 wickets bowling left arm round and you still wouldnt give him the lickings of a dog

What, England winning? Don't knock it, you can only beat what is in front of you, and with their crowds I cannot believe for one minute they aren't trying, as they'll be the same crowds at the IPL and they won't want to antagonise them.

Did anybody hear the stat this morning, about the bowlers who had dismissed a batsman for a duck 5 times in Tests?

As I remember the batsmen are:(can you name the bowlers in white)

Roy (India) - Trueman
Harmison - Warne
Gayle - Vaas
Healey - Walsh

Although you werent saying that when Sehwag was going well in the First Test ;-)

Its not that beating sides isnt fulfilling, its when its so transparent that countries dont care anymore.

Gayle seemed to start the ball rolling when he didnt want to be over here a few years back and seems to have snowballed since

I think the point was that you weren't saying this when England were trounced in the first test. Seems evident that you're willing to criticise England (and certain players) for their incapability of performing in the sub continent but then when they do perform its because the opponents are focusing on IPL / Big Bash or whatever else.

England winning
Swanny top of our bowling averages
Anderson running through a top order on a road of a wicket.

It wasnt meant to be like this

Superb stuff so far in this test. KP, Swann, Prior and Root outstanding with the bat and now Jimmy with the ball.

always thought root was as small as james taylor. what has happened to taylor by the way?

as for root, he seems to have had a growing spurt and can only improve in the future

BBC cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew believes James Anderson is one of the best bowlers in England's history. "The way James Anderson bowled was quite brilliant and I cannot think of a better England bowler in my time than the Lancashire paceman," says Agnew in his column.

I imagine in 30 years time this era of test cricket will be known for nothing else than when 20/20 cricket was all most cared about

what era do you think, were the england team at their best?

most of the all time records held in cricket have come in the last 20 years, so this era must being doing something right???

England will never dominate in international cricker due to 2 factors:

Weather

Format of county game, whereby 450 plus professionals earn a career out of cricket, whereby that number should be closer to 200 (ie, 9 counties)

Love Test Cricket me lads. Don't know what I'm ganna dee next week when it's all over .

Mind in relation to India not being arsed, that's bollocks. They do love their T20 but Test cricket should always be the bread and butter. I personally would much rather watch a Test Match.
