These bottle caps can't get here quick enough! Got 2 5 gal FVs to bottle, been ready for a week. I'm itching to get another brew on.

It's crap when stuff holds up the production. My problem was always time to do it due to being a childminder/dad.

can't have a drink...am itching for one.... gotta go pick a carload of kids up from town at 10

Tragic, I'm on the Wherry and once the house has cleared off to bed going to have a couple of herbal cigs.

Any ideas why that is? How firm were the bottles when you moved them to condition?

Firm? Ne idea what that means mate!

There's a bit fizz, clear as a bell and tastes lovely, just nit fuzzy enough.

Spent a week in a warm room, and two in garage since bottling, impatience maybe?

Once bottled before moving to cold area for conditioning, I always give my bottles a squeeze. They need to be as hard as a bottle of cola, any give and the drink tends to be flat. The softer the bottle the worse the fizz.

Glass bottles mate :)

Going to move back insdie in the warm for a few days, so close to being perfect.

Ah nee wonder you cant squeeze them. Off the top of my head here's a plan. When you bottle them make 1 bottle in a plastic bottle then you can squeeze it and it will give you a good estimation of how well secondary fermentation has gone for that batch.

Good thinking mate :)

Frustrating, nice crisp taste, slight citrus from the lemon juice, just not quite fizzy enough.

Going to get a few more on tomorrow

Yeah it is frustrating when they are perfect apart from the fizz. My first lager I made was flat as a fart due to me thinking that 4 days secondary was standard without even feeling the bottle. In the summer that was close enough, lately I have had stuff in secondary for a week and a half.

Quality

Yeah, at least two weeks secondary from now on.

Roll on payday, getting a kegerator conversion thing, shite at diy like, so probably saying goodbye to garage fridge :)

On a happier note. The Ruby red/IPA combination (ballsup) has conditioned into something slightly better than just drinkable. Over time I live in hope, at least it's not shit any more.

Just had my first taste of my Blueberry TC, I know its only been just under 4 weeks but i couldn't resist.

first of all it had no fizz but thats just the trial and error of it being the first one i am not worried about that.

but what i am worried about it that it tasted just like wine! i really don't like wine. i am assuming that it was because i put too much sugar in is this right?

am gutted although it did have a nice colour.

Called in to Wilko's on my way home yesterday. Picked up a hoppy bitter, a mexican cerveza, strawberry wine kit, light spraymalt, medium spraymalt, couple of airlocks, 2 bags of brewing sugar (freebies) and some crown bottle caps. I now have 7 kits to put on! Need to get to Wickes for the shelving and some insulation.

After 12 hours in the water bath the bottles feel solid to the touch.

Ill leave them til tomorra before sticking the next lot in.

To much sugar and you turn a cider into wine the only difference is the % of alcohol.
