This 'getting rid of the old guards' that MArty keeps bringing up, who are these people? I'd be more than happy to get rid of Harmison, Diva's already gone. It looks like Clayidon's on his bike if he's resigned himself to Chester le Street, I csn't imagine Blackwell being back.

Surely he cant mean Benks and Colly in that? We need some experienced players and surely it'd be daft to do a Steve Bruce and sign a whole new first team.

How in the world can a bloke continue to pick wankers who can't bat?! Myburgh, Jennings and Richardson should all be playing today, as it happens only Mustards injury, seemingly has let Rico in!

Agree... It's been coming though, the persistance with Gordon Muchall, not giving Colly the captaincy at the start of the year, continuing with our belief that we should chuck our money at a T20 batsman (again) and leave the local lads to fail in the 4-Day cricket (again). I can't say I'm surprised.
 
Well that was another poor effort with the bat. Credit to Richardson who dug in and was unfortunately caught by a ball that was flicked up by the slip and into the wicket keepers gloves.

Muchall was also very unlucky, Rocky knocked the ball down the wicket, deflected off the bowlers leg and onto the stumps.

Some poor shots costing us, especially by Stokes. Benks also seemed to be a tame dismissial as well.

Bowlers doing their bit as they always do. Overall it was pretty much a typical Durham day this season. Batting overall shit, bowling overall good.

Borthwick took a wicket with the first ball of the last over which resulted in the end of play for the day. It's going to be very tough to get anything out of this game.

2 of the "old guard" were 2nd and 3rd top scorers today with the bat (Colly and Benks). The other "old guard" bowled very well (Thorp).

Also worth noting a member of the "old guard" claimed 3 catches as well today, some of them very good catches as well.

I'm still not buying into this "old guard" excuse.
