Surrey 285 behind and following on.
Must have been immense to have been there. Unfortunately childminding got in the way of me being there. As it happens, a great win. What is more, the teams above us don't seem that far away! Almost a case of - what a difference a day makes. Great article on cricinfo about how at Tea last night we were effectively 36-7.
Talk in the commentary box was that 3 wins from 5 was needed to keep us up, however 2 wins might be enough if results elsewhere go our way. I suppose in truth it's pointless and impossible to envisage how the results will go. One thing is for sure though, we're suddenly back fighting!
Haven't heard noise like that at a Durham game for a long time, brilliant and quite a few turned up.
The bowling and fielding has never been an issue, I said to my other half last night just after our innings finished "we'll win this"
Just pleased for the players, the delight on their faces was great to see.
We decided to sit in the members lounge today for the game, got talking to some great people.
Also delighted for Richardson who had such a good game and took some crucial catches today.
Overall massive improvement needed with the bat in the top order. Bowling and fielding is excellent and that needs to continue, they really are bowling their hearts out at the moment.
Still can't believe we've won that game as it was a depressing situation during the rain interval yesterday. I posted the general feeling at the ground was people just expected defeat and wanted us putting out of our misery. Amazing how quick a game changed.
Very dissapointed in Steven Finn though.
What happened like?
Yesterday just in front of where we were sat, he went to save the ball from a boundary, he had hold of the ball and moved the rope back about half a metre. We all saw it and started signally 4 as the umpire had to ask, and Finn just shrugged his shoulders  Clear boundary and he knew it just as much as we did, but they got away with it and we only scored 2 runs. He got a bit stick off us which didn't pleased the bellend arrogant Middlesex fans sat near us yesterday last session (in the corner of the county durham stand near the media centre). Shame he wasn't honest. Obviously with the game getting as close as it did, I was hoping those runs weren't going to prove crucial.
Poor show that, at least it didn't stop us from winning.
