end of day

england 192 all out

pakistan 42 for 0

i missed the podgy moment, out walking the dogs.

what a tribute though, reading on here.

mind you podge will be spitting feathers, leaning on the bar of the heaven arms

Could be a long day in the sun for England tomorrow unless they can snap a few early on.

Crowd was shockingly poor. Not much interest in test cricket in Dubai?

Here is the best bit, the Ajmal interview

Got to love his enthusiasm. That interview when they were in England last, had me in stitch's.

Well played to the lad. Only the 6th bowler in history to have gotten 5 LBW's in an innings.

Its going to be a good duel between him and swanny for the right to be numero uno.

Apparently there is. Plenty of Asians ower there. Its just they were slogging their guts out building Dubai.

Friday is Sunday, its their only day off, so we'll see more crowd wise.

Defo need a few early doors. If we dont they could easily get a lead of 150-200.

Rabbit off here if you ask me like.

Not sure what that means mate. Did you want it to be cryptic like?

I reckon there's a, erm, 'gentlemans agreement' that means Pakistan will win this Test series to ease tensions between us and them. There's absolutely no tension like, but it's a ready made excuse if we lose.

Not really like. Ajmal has been the better spinner for the last year or so.

Swann is a standard offie, Ajmal has a degree of mystery as he isnt a standard offie. Unfair comparison.

Swann has done magnificently but has never and will never be the worlds best spinner.

English cricket has just went up in my estimation today, shame about the collapse. Don't know if the football is a fair comparison but I can't imagine them doing anything like that.

A few people have said this, but I switched off after the final wicket fell. What did the players/team do?

Don't know apart from the Prior thing but I'd imagine that they all knew about it as it's a pretty close knit thing players/ fans wise. It's the touches like the stadium announcement I'm on about too, Agnew devoting time to it on the radio etc.

Gerrin Broad lad, finally we've made an impact on the game. Unlucky for Tremlett to drop the previous chance, but that was a cracking delivery to dismiss Taufeeq. A little bit of movement off the pitch starting to creep in?

114-1

Good little spell from Broad at the end of the seession but we have bowled way too short in the main. Can still see Pakistan getting a lead of 200 here.

Depends really on how we start now. If Broad can continue where he left off before lunch, and he is looking dangerous, then we can hopefully nick another couple of quick wickets and start to put the pressure on. If we could get them to something like 200-5, we're in with a chance of restricting them to only a double figure lead.

Is it me or are our fast bowlers a yard slower than last year ??

Just a bit rusty it seems.

Can't be easy to get fired up to play international cricket in front of a crowd of a couple of hundred people.

The whole thing just looks flat and dull.
