unproven leg spinner in international cricket, Danish kaneria takes wickets for fun in county but has struggled internationally, so cant judge Tahir yet.
Kallis looks well past his best now.
Morkel has potential but then again so did Harmy, he could be just good enough or eventually world class, again time will tell.

I would suggest a leg spinner with 261 wickets at 34 in test cricket has not struggled.

I would suggest Morkel with 119 wickets in 32 games at a healthy average of 29.46 (signifcantly better than Broad and Anderson) has more than 'potential'

In regards to Kaneria, just looks at his stats for the last 3/4 years, they are awful.
Anderson's average is only high b'cos he was playing before he was ready.
As for Broad, how many centuries does morkel have...

Significantly being 1 :-)

steyn,anderson,r harris, swann, khan
best attack for me, hardly dominated by SA. Take steyn out and SA would be below australia in terms of bowling.

obviously knows nothing:shock: look at the stats ,they tell a different story

morkel is just a bowler, you should be comparing stats with Kallis then if thats your argument

Probs SEB but how is Ponting still getting a game?, in Australian teams of the past he would have been gone after the 5th Ashes test in Sydney.

Their batting line-up looks a shambles, which on paper it really isn't. Time for the likes of Ponting and Hussey to move on now I think.

Their bowling isnt much better..

Got a young lad opening the bowling who has just played 3 FC games

its ok if you have the talent but thats where the Aussies have been caught short,

I'm surprised their bowling is doing as well as it is, could be that SA don't usually play test matches in their spring.

Harris is a crock, Johnson very inconsistent, Siddle an honest tryer and the spin department is a bad as any in world cricket.

Siddle reminds me of a slightly poorer Darren Gough in attitude and work rate.

Would be a hard man to drop Hussey after the Ashes he had mind.

I'm still surprised how quickly they ditched Hautitz. He looked loads better than some of the toss spinners they've tried.

It tells quite a story that they now appear to be relying on the contribution that Watson can make with the ball.

For me, Clarke is the only top class player they've got left. There will be a few tough years ahead for the Aussies by the looks of it :lol::lol::lol:

It's what the Aussies are reknowned for though - Boon, Slater, M Waugh for starters all dropped when they would have walked in any other side in test cricket. Hussey had a good Ashes but he's 36 and is back to his form prior to that series. If they can't afford to get rid of either him or Ponting then their domestic game must be in a state.

Agree about Hauritz, not top quality by any stretch of the imagination but steady away and could bat. Some of the spinners they have trotted out (Michael Beer and Steve Smith for example), wouldn't get in some county sides.

He must have done something dodgy Hauritz like.

Has been treat like garbage by the Aussie establishment.

Cummins looks a canny prospect. Only 18 and he had Kallis all over the place this morning, been Australia's best bowler from what I've seen in this innings.
