I'm loving England's test match domination at the minute - but I have to agree with you.

The Indians just don't want to be here.

Once again, it seems that we're the best at something that only has secondary status to the rest.

correct and its hardly surprising given their schedules.

this tour is nothing more than an irritance they could do without

mediocrity is now perceived as greatness by England supporters and thats the sad part

sad day for test cricket when the Indians dont want to be here

I blame 20/20 and the IPL

I remember when tests lasted the full 5 days, now every test is a procession for one side or the other

RIP test cricket

West Indies to Blame

Then the Aussies

bastard best teams putting the others to the sword, spoils it all when we do it

Whatever the reasons we're still on target to become the No 1 test nation

Even if your above statement is correct, we're still top

I bet you're a right laugh down the pub... :-|

conessieur of top quality cricket. underwhelmed by test match cricket and have been since 2007 when the likes of Warne retired

the game is dying a slow death

laugh at me all you like

people appreciate test cricket is dying even if they try to convince themself otherwise

RIP test cricket

definitely seemed so with a full Trent Bridge and people lining the streets of St Johns Wood to get in to Lords last week.

The standard of Test match bowling across the world is poor. Very few would disagree with that.

However, you are loving being the numero uno WUM on the cricket forum and are a caricature of yourself (especially since the lads who met you whilst they were on tour said you were alright). Clearly just an internet gobshite :-D

you clearly know your cricket lad and its fair enough you dont rate Anderson and Swann (which Ill agree to differ on) but youre going on a bit daft with regards to the death of Test cricket etc. Its pure football-esque. Its killing any kind of proper debate on England related threads

Knock it on the head man

As I have previously said, if others want to put a lid on it Im more than happy to toe the line.

Whats tha phrase if you cant beat em join em

could always just swallow your pride and say some players are proving you wrong and overcoming a lot of obstacles you stick in front of them rather than going on daft and making excuses or exceptions in certain circumstances. Thats all it would take for the line to be drawn in the sand and order to be restored on the cricket forum.

Whats the phrase? you win some, you lose some.

Cook, Broad and Bell you called right
Swann, Anderson and Mahmood you havent
Morgan TBC

some players are doing better than I gave them credit for.

they certainly arent world beaters and unortunately, Sehwag and Ghambir not playing proves nothing.

Its a shame as they are class players and how often is it you get to watch Sehwag on these shores

Can only play whats put in front of you though. Knocking over a side four times for less than 300 with players of Dravid, Laxman, Tendulkar and Dhoni's calibre (not forgetting Ghambir batted in the first test) is a very good achievement. Particularly given that the pitches have been good for batting and the Indians have won the toss twice. Sehwag's record is hardly fantastic on these shores either (not too dissimilar to Sangakkara).

Our bowlers compliment each other, and as a unit there is no better in world cricket at the minute. A very disciplined attack without a great deal of flair (they arent Harmison, Jones, Flintoff and Hoggard in their prime granted).

id take South Africa's attack any day of the week

Steyn, Morkel, Parnell, Tahir and Kallis as 5th choice.

not even close but as I said above they play far less test cricket than England

Have Parnell and Tahir played much Test cricket, if so has it been successful?

Dale Steyn would walk into our side. The rest I am not so sure about.

Bresnan and Tremlett have barely played any test cricket.

Its also a lot harder to play for SA than England

In what way? More difficult to get in the side or more difficult to actually play for them?

Im fairly sure Bresnan and Tremlett have played more than Parnell and Tahir without looking at stats - and again without looking at stats, have been more successful

Quota system, harder to break into their side, SA have been ranked amongst the top 3 sides for 10 years
